Premiered at the Sydney Film Festival, interweaves dual narratives-
The repatriated young pianist, the filmmaker returning to her Macau hometown, and the girl who can see ghosts.

The first DIY independent film by creative duo Clara Law and Eddie Fong, Drifting Petals is a poignant and poetic meditation filmed across Australia, Hong Kong, and Macau.

Through Clara Law’s lens, Hong Kong appears pale and ghostlike — its streets, buildings, and cityscapes stripped of colour, a sharp contrast to the glowing warmth of traditional family homes. With poetic shots drifting above Hong Kong and Lau Yee Tat’s avant-garde soundtrack, the film captures Kongers’ Mid-Autumn Festival before the 1997 handover.
