When we think about pioneering, we often think about building something new… but it’s so much more than that.

It’s about building family. It’s about forming deep, real relationships and choosing to walk in genuine love every single day.

Through the highs and the lows, I’ve realized that the most valuable part of this journey isn’t what we build—it’s who we build it with.

Ministry becomes something powerful when it’s done with friends who turn into family.

Truly grateful for this journey.

Grateful for my YWAM family.

The DBS is the next level school in the YWAM global training mission to the Discipleship Training School (DTS). You’ve had an amazing opportunity to know God through your DTS. God’s Word will become your unshakable foundation!

YWAM Value No.1

Our first value as a global mission is to know God.

YWAM is committed to know God, His nature, His character and His ways as revealed in the Bible, the inspired and authoritative Word of God. We seek to reflect who He is in every aspect of our lives and ministry. The automatic overflow of knowing and enjoying fellowship with God is a desire to share Him with others. (2Ki 19:19; Job 42:5; Psa 46:10; Psa 103:7-13; Jer 9:23-24; Hos 6:3; Joh 17:3; Eph 1:16-17; Php 3:7-11; 1Jo 2:4-6)

Everything we do as a mission is in response to who He is. And our heart with the DBS is that you go from hearing about God to knowing Him for yourself. Just like Job in the Bible who confess before God:

“I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees you…” Job 42:5

And know God, then to send out and make God known.

Subtitles available in English, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean and more to come.

Passion to Know God and Make Him Known

//A Mission Movement Rising in Melbourne, Australia//

In a world full of noise, distraction, and endless options, there is still a deep hunger in the hearts of many people — a hunger to truly know God and discover their purpose.

Here in Melbourne, Australia, we are witnessing a growing movement of young people who are saying yes to that hunger.

At YWAM Lives and Tribes, we believe that everything begins with a genuine passion:
the passion to know God and to make Him known.

//Knowing God Changes Everything//

Passion for God begins with a sincere desire to seek Him intentionally.

When people truly encounter God, something powerful happens.
Their identity becomes clear. Their purpose begins to unfold.

We believe that when we know God, we discover who we really are.

Knowing His heart transforms the way we live, the way we love people, and the way we see the world. Instead of living for ourselves, we begin to live for something bigger — God’s global purpose.

//From Melbourne to the Nations//

Our community in Melbourne, Australia is part of a global missionary movement through Youth With a Mission (YWAM).

Through discipleship, training schools, and outreach opportunities, we help young people grow in their relationship with God and discover their calling.

But our story doesn’t stop in Melbourne.

When we encounter God, our natural response is obedience.
And that obedience leads us beyond borders.

It leads us to go to the nations.

//A Generation Responding to the Call//

Across the world, a generation is rising with the same cry:

“Send me.”

Movements like The Send are mobilizing thousands of young people who want to live radically for Jesus and bring hope to the nations.

At YWAM Lives and Tribes, we are passionate about helping people move from inspiration to action.

We believe missions is not just for a few —
it’s an invitation for everyone.

//Go to the Nations//

Jesus’ call has always been clear:
to go beyond our comfort zones and carry His love to every culture, tribe, and nation.

At YWAM Lives and Tribes Melbourne, we are committed to raising missionaries, leaders, creatives, and pioneers who will bring the message of Jesus across the world.

Our heart is simple:

🔥 Know God deeply
🌍 Discover your identity
🚶 Walk in obedience
✈️ Go to the nations

Bible & Worldview: The Word That Shapes the Messenger

We are in Week 5 of our DTS, and the focus is clear: Bible & Worldview. This is not just about accumulating knowledge, but about allowing the Word of God to transform the way we see the world, interpret reality, and live out our mission.

“The complete study of the whole Bible brings understanding and confidence when sharing the message in the mission field.”

This is not a motivational phrase. It is a deep conviction.

A Worldview Shaped by the Word

Every culture has a narrative. Every society, in one way or another, seeks to answer questions like:
Where do we come from?
What is wrong with the world?
Is there hope?
Is there a purpose?

If we do not know the full story of the Bible, we run the risk of preaching fragments. But when we understand the narrative from Genesis to Revelation—creation, fall, redemption, and restoration—we can present the gospel not merely as an individual solution, but as the true story that gives meaning to all other stories.

The Bible is not a collection of isolated verses. It is a unified story that points to Jesus.

As 2 Timothy 3:16 says, all Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. That means the whole Bible—not just our favorite parts—is necessary to form a mature messenger.

Understanding That Produces Confidence

In the mission field, we face difficult questions:
• Why does suffering exist?
• What about other religions?
• How do we reconcile science and faith?
• What does justice truly mean?

When our worldview is anchored in the entirety of Scripture, we do not respond from emotion or personal opinion, but from deep conviction.

In the book of Acts, we see how the disciples preached with boldness because they knew God’s story. They were not sharing scattered ideas; they proclaimed prophetic fulfillment, messianic identity, and the lordship of Christ with clarity and authority.

Confidence does not come from having all the answers, but from deeply knowing the Author.

This week, it was powerful to see how God led us deeper into His character and nature.
He reminded us that revelation always calls for transformation.
This is only the beginning — stay connected for what’s ahead.

Frodo, Captain America, Luke Skywalker and Jesus: What do these figures all have in common? 🤔

They all went through a radical journey of heroism! While Frodo, Steve Rodgers and Luke Skywalker are fictional, we can still use them as modern examples of the sacrificial endeavor Jesus had to overcome for mankind.

When we think of the stages of the journey, it’s very easy to see places where giving up seems like the best option. Our heroes faced many challenges and enemies trying to make their way.

Frodo with the help of the Fellowship battled orcs, ringwraiths, and goblins while traveling thousands of miles from home.

Steve Rodgers woke up in another century, found his friend to be his enemy, and did his best to remain a God-fearing man in the midst of secularism.

Luke Skywalker lost his mentor Obi-Wan, had to resist the Dark Side, and make it through the Death Star to defeat the emperor.

Jesus, son of God and God in the flesh faced countless challenges and enemies during His life on earth. From facing Satan’s temptation in the wilderness to confronting religious leaders, Jesus is the original blueprint for the “Hero’s Journey.”

Despite all the obstacles He faced, He proved time and time again how it looked to persevere through and be transformed into the image of God that our Father calls us to.

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Christmas today has been polluted into showy decoration and endless chocolates in the supermarket. Hardly anyone goes to church, preferring to spend time in the comfort of their own celebration, while Jesus stands in the corner.

But we recognize our Messiah, we give glory to the one who was born to give us this beautiful holiday. We need to put the Christ back in Christmas, we need to share the good news, the true light and star atop our tree.

Just as the angels cried out in exhalation, so should we!
A savior is born! Merry Christmas!

Integrity and Discipling the Nations 🔥✝

Discipling involves transformation, and as followers of Christ we need to transform the culture of the nations into the culture of the Kingdom.

How do we do this?
⁃ Look for the values of each person
⁃ Invest our time and relationship into them
⁃ Lead them continually toward Jesus

The Disciples didn’t just follow Jesus- they had a relationship with Him. If we aren’t seeing the true value of people, and investing ourselves to lead them in Christ like principles, we are not walking in integrity.

We recognise the original design God gifted every nation, and that Jesus calls us to walk with integrity when discipling them. We don’t just follow leaders because they demand us to. We follow them because we respect them, we believe in them, and we trust them. When our hearts are aligned in integrity, we can lead with true authority, to provoke the transformation from our culture to the Kingdom culture of Jesus Christ!
