Looking to strengthen your team’s capability in bushfire planning and BAL assessment?

FPA Australia’s Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Short Course provides practical training for professionals working across planning, development, building and fire safety in bushfire-prone areas.

Participants will build skills in:

• Assessing and determining BALs
• Bushfire planning and building requirements
• Bushfire-resistant construction
• Construction requirements under AS3959

Designed for:

• Bushfire consultants
• Local government and fire services personnel
• Town planners
• Building surveyors
• Environmental consultants

Required for Level 1 BPAD Accreditation, this course covers two units:

- CPPBPA5001 Assess factors affecting bushfire behaviour
- PUAFIR518 Conduct and record a Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Assessment

Designed specifically for NSW council professionals involved in planning, development assessment and bush fire related decision making.

This self paced course provides practical knowledge to help you better understand bush fire risk, interpret assessment reports with confidence and support more consistent planning decisions.

Based on Planning for Bush Fire 2019, updates will be provided as new planning guidelines are introduced.

Complete the training at your own pace and receive a Certificate of Completion and 7 CPD points.
