These little critters are vital to our ecosystems, and summer is the perfect time to admire their dazzling colours and patterns.

Here are five beetles to watch for:

1️⃣ Flower Chafers – Unsung pollinators feeding on native flowers like tea trees.
2️⃣ Stag Beetles – Nature’s recyclers with shimmering gold and green exoskeletons.
3️⃣ Christmas Beetles – Festive icons with iridescent shells, but their numbers may be declining.
4️⃣ Jewel Beetles – Living metallic masterpieces, with 1,200 species in Australia.
5️⃣ Diamond Weevils – Sparkling crowns of the beetle world, often found munching Acacia leaves.
