A weighted platypus named Percy is helping Mansfield students heal
After the January bushfires, the impact on students didn’t just disappear once the fires were out.
At Mansfield Primary School, some students are still feeling anxious, triggered by sirens, helicopters or even weather updates.
That’s where we came in. Thanks to the incredible support of local Rotary clubs, we recently delivered sensory tools to help students feel calm, safe and ready to learn, including scoop chairs, fidget tools and even weighted toys (yes, including Percy the platypus).
These small things make a big difference. Because when a child feels supported, they can focus, participate and thrive at school.

Thank you to the Mansfield Primary wellbeing team and our generous community partners for making this possible.
