We’re excited to share our refreshed name - Orchard Youth! 🍏✨
Same heart, same community, just a fresh look as we step into a new season together.

Term 2 is starting this Friday! Our plan is packed with fun, connection, and meaningful moments. Youth nights run from 7–9PM, with a few special events along the way (details will be sent out via email). We’d love to see you there— dont forget to bring a friend! 🤩

Hello families!

We had a wonderful night at our amazing race family night!

Last night, I shared some news about the future of the Youth ministry at The Orchard.
As this year at Beyond draws to an end, so too does my time in youth ministry. Over the last 12 and a bit years, I've had the amazing privilege of being a part of the youth ministry at The Orchard. It's been such a joy to watch so many young people find faith, fun and friendship in our church community. I've led alongside so many wonderful leaders and learned so much from them. Thank you to Josh S, Georgie, Angel, Bethany, Jono, Sam, Aaron and Josh A for being an outstanding team these last two years.
My life is forever changed for the better because of my involvement in youth ministry.

And yet now, it's time for a change. I've been called to lead in different areas (still at The Orchard!), and while youth ministry will always hold a special place in my heart, I'm so excited for what next year and the years to come have in store! Next year, 'll be concluding my role as youth minister and instead I'll be involved in coordinating the 10:30am service, as well as running events throughout the year.

The role of youth minister is being expanded in 2026 to include more opportunities for young people to connect and grow, and to broaden our reach into our local community.
To do this, we are welcoming onto our staff team 4 individuals who will bring new life, skills, passion and gifts to youth ministry at The Orchard. They will be working in different roles around worship, discipleship, outreach and coordinating our current Friday night youth ministry.

It's my joy to announce that Beyond Youth will be left in the following most capable hands:
-Heath Murphy
-Izzy Adduci
-Gaile Scott
-Jono Thompson

I'm sure you will recognise some of these names and know what wonderful people they are! They are all deeply passionate about seeing young people find hope, joy and faith. They are committed to young people, and have all served for years in various kids and youth ministries, programs and camps. Heath and Izzy are new to our church community this year, and we are excited that they are bringing their gifts and skills to The Orchard!

At The Orchard, we believe in championing and giving opportunities to young people. I'm so excited to see the new life that Gaile, Izzy, Jono and Heath will bring to youth ministry at The Orchard. I'm sure, as a church family, we will support them and cheer them on in their journey.

Our current youth leaders are discerning and praying about how they might be involved in youth ministry next year. I will update you as I am able to.

If you have any questions or concerns about youth ministry next year, as always, I'm here to listen and help!

Thank you to every youth, parent and guardian for being a part of this wonderful journey. Thank you for your support and for making these last 12 years such a joy!

Hi Beyond!

Due to some wonderful rain expected tomorrow evening, we have a slight change of plans for our 2 or More social night. Instead of gathering at the park, we are now heading to Mooroolbark Baptist Church for a fun night of games, BBQ and a movie!

Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Pick up and drop off: The Orchard - Bayswater campus
If you are going to be dropped off and/or picked up at Mooroolbark Baptist Church instead, you are most welcome to! Please let me know so we can account for you.

The sleepover is this Friday!!

We are ready for a night of fun, snacks, memories and maybe even a little sleep!

Please note pick up and drop off will be at different campuses. Permission forms for the sleepover will be available on Friday, so please ensure your parent or guardian comes in to fill out the form.
-Drop off 7pm Friday - Bayswater campus
-Pick up 9am Saturday - Boronia campus

Please have dinner before you arrive. We will provide dessert and breakfast!

See the packing list below - note that we ask that each person provide their own mattress, at church sleepovers we ask that mattresses are not shared.

If you can't attend the whole sleepover, let us know what time they will be there. We are happy to have you for as long as they can be there!

Hey Beyond!
Sunday is forecast to have showers and possible thunderstorms, so sadly we will have to postpone our Backyard Blitz again.
However, we will still gather on Sunday! We will attend the 10:30am church service together, have lunch and do some sort of activity at church. It's not planned yet, but it will be fun! Pick up will be 2pm at Bayswater church.

Hi youth!
We have an exciting rest of the year at Beyond! Hopefully, you have all got your copy of the term plan by now; if not, you can see it below.

Here is the overview of the next few weeks. Please note that we have no standard nights for the rest of this term. While it may be a lot in an already busy season, the youth team and I really believe in the value of each of these events, and we hope and pray that they work for your family. Due to several factors, they all fell in the latter half of the term! If you have any questions or if we can assist in getting you to any of the events, please let us know.

Faith in Action: Backyard Blitz
We are excited to be bringing your Backyard Blitz plan to life! We know that your effort will be a huge blessing to those we help, with a long-lasting impact on the people we support, the youth and leaders. When we help others, our own lives are changed for the better. We can't wait for this Sunday! More details for Sunday will be coming through on Wednesday.

Sleepover
Next week is our youth sleepover! Permission forms will be emailed this week and available on Sunday. The sleepover will be at our Boronia Campus. It will not include dinner, but will include dessert and breakfast!

2 or More social night
We will be gathering with 4 other youth groups at The Arboretum in Boronia for a fun night of games, food and fun. Pick up and drop off will be confirmed closer to the date.

Amazing Race family night
Bring along the whole family (of all ages) for a night of friendly competition, laughter and fun!

Fancy Christmas Formal
End the year with a wonderful celebration alongside The Orchard Young adults! Cost will be $20. Dinner and good times provided!

Hey Beyond!

Tomorrow night, both youth and young adults are heading to the golf course for a fun night of golf!
Youth can choose between:
-playing a round of mini golf
-spending some time in the driving range

Young adults will be at the driving range, as they did mini golf last term!
7-9pm
Pick up and drop off from Bayswater Campus
Cost: $16 concession (same cost for mini golf and driving range)
Bring a friend!

I am on leave tomorrow. The youth will be in the capable hands of Sam Young, our Young Adults minister. Please contact me if you need Sam's details, and I'll pass them on.
