A proud day for some of our Skillaroos! 🌟

Claire Bextream (Jewellery), Bailey Lowes (Industrial Mechanics) and Cooper Thornley (Welding) took to the stage at the National Manufacturing Workplace Forum in Melbourne, sharing their stories, skills and passion with industry leaders and the wider manufacturing community. 👏

As always, our Skillaroos left a lasting impression, with the audience blown away by their professionalism, passion and achievements. A special thank you to Damien Sinclair, Expert for Mechatronics and Head of Didactic for Australia & NZ Festo a wonderful advocate for WorldSkills, apprentices and young people.

Skills in the Heart – National Apprentice Employment Network NAEN 2026

What an incredible few days in Yulara, NT, connecting with employers, GTOs and industry leaders from across Australia.

We were proud to have our Skills Excellence Lead, Marguerita Perilli, represent us at NAEN 2026 and contribute to important discussions about supporting trainees and building a stronger future workforce.

The event showcased the power of collaboration, community and a shared commitment to creating opportunities for the next generation.

Thank you to everyone who made the event such a success.

May 2026 Skill News is out now 🎯

This month we're celebrating the historic revival of Architectural Stonemasonry and it's first regional competition held by Training and Skills Commission SA, a visit from Andrew Giles MP accompanied by Sarah Witty MP to ARBS Exhibition 2026 where thw leaders connected with our Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Skillaroo, Adam Morgan. We also celebrated Kirby HVACR and their remarkable 30-year partnership with WorldSkills Australia.

Creativity and skill on display in Tamworth 💄✂️

The WorldSkills Australia New England Region Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing Regional Competitions recently took place at the Northwest Regional Careers Expo in Tamworth.
Supported by Dermalogica Australia, and TAFE NSW Tamworth Hair and Beauty, students showcased their talent across live makeup and hairdressing challenges in front of industry judges and expo attendees.
A huge congratulations to all competitors, judges and organisers who helped bring the event to life!

2026 Skillaroo Daniel Peto is continuing to build momentum on the road to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, proudly representing Australia in Cyber Security.

Passionate about digital defence and the future of technology, Daniel is using his platform to inspire others to explore the growing opportunities within cyber security and the skilled technology sector.

“I want to inspire others to see the value in Cyber Security and digital defence.”

As preparations continue toward international competition, Daniel’s journey highlights the importance of emerging digital skills in shaping Australia’s future workforce.

The 2026 WorldSkills Australia Regional Competitions are happening all around Australia 🇦🇺

In Melbourne at ARBS 2026, refrigeration and air conditioning competitors took to the competition floor across three massive days, showcasing their skills live in front of industry audiences.

Meanwhile in South Australia, the Adelaide Careers and Employment Expo and PEER helped inspire students and future apprentices to explore careers in the trades and competition pathways.

From competition floors to careers expos, the road to nationals is officially underway.
