HYC is located in Westernport Bay and is one of the most active clubs in the area. Hastings Yacht Club has a large array of facilities to offer its members. The club house boasts a bar area down stairs with a limited licence including a BBQ area frequently used by members and guests post race or during special events, while upstairs features a large function room with adjoining modern kitchen. The
club house also has a separate committee room, male and female shower and change room facilities. The surrounding yard, approx. 3000 square metres and club house is under 24 hour video surveillance keeping both the mast up storage, slip yard and building safe from unwanted guests. The entire facility is also protected by an advanced FOB enter system only allowing access to members and has the ability to record every entry and exit by person. The slip is able to launch and retrieve mono and multihull up to 20 ton, with a motorised traverse servicing 4 rails in the work area. Our Cradles are excellently maintained and provide a safe and secure means of doing that vital out of water maintenance. Members can apply for a spot in our mast up storage yard, where trailer sailors and multihulls up to approx. 32 feet can be stored on their own trailer, this also include Off the beach boats such as dinghies and cat’s . The club also provides a tractor for launching and retrieval these boats however operators must trained before using the tractor. As the encouragement of our younger club members is vital for the clubs longevity we have a large number of training vessels from single handed dinghies to larger multi person trainers like “Harry Who” a savage dolphin. The training fleet also includes several purpose built boats for the disabled. Other on the water assets include a patrol boat “HS11” a 14’ runabout and our flagship “Shamrock” a 8.5mtr Whittley power cruiser which supports our race series. Recently we extended our floating pontoon which now has lighting, power and fresh water right to the dockside. The club is very active year round with racing on both Saturdays and Sundays on a fortnightly basis (due to tides) year round. Sailing includes Keelboats, Trailables and Multihulls on Saturdays and Off the Beach dinghies on Sunday's. Both very competitive days, afterwards everyone is welcome back to the club for a BBQ and drinks. Our very successful Junior Sailing Program runs in the warmer months, Term 1 and Term 4 accomodating for children from the age of 7 years old.
