Congratulations to Joshua Han, this year’s recipient of the Angus Gray Piano Performance Grant.

Joshua has been selected to represent Australia in the 2026 Ljubljana Festival International Piano Competition, in Slovenia in February next year. Thirty pianists were chosen globally, and Joshua is the only Australian.

He is using the grant to help cover travel costs.
And we’re delighted to be able to help Joshua in this adventure.

If you’d like a sneak peak, uncovering Mattutino scheduling secrets, Joshua will be playing the January Mattutino at Tempo Rubato, before he leaves for Slovenia. Tickets will be released a month before, keep an eye on the Tempo socials/website.

Good luck Joshua!

Piano Project has been supporting the organisation on an ongoing basis since 2021.

Applications are open for the Angus Gray Piano Performance Grant 2025.

Angus Gray was a performer, vocalist, composer, producer and arranger. His piano, keyboard and synthesiser skills were highly sought after in the jazz, funk, R&B, soul and blues music scenes. He was described as a remarkable and sensitive musician, an icon, a leader and a mentor with a beautiful soul.

This grant is an annual grant, in Angus’s honour, supported by the Gray family. We accept applications from any pianist under the age of 25 who is pursuing a career in performance and seeking financial assistance for an activity or purchase that will help in this pursuit.

Grants of up to $1000 are available. Applications will remain open until our budget has been reached.

For more details and how to apply, please see our website: www.pianoproject.org.au/grants
