A new policy proposal from Pauline Hanson and One Nation has sparked fresh discussion around Australia's migration settings, student visa program, and housing affordability challenges.

Under the proposal, international students who stop studying or fail to complete their enrolled course would be required to leave Australia before submitting a new student visa application.

One Nation argues that loopholes within the current system allow some visa holders to remain in Australia through repeated course transfers, bridging visas, and other visa pathways, which the party says adds pressure to housing demand and public infrastructure.

𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗘𝗦:

▪️ Students who withdraw from their studies would be expected to leave Australia before applying again

▪️ Bridging visas would not be available for students who discontinue their courses

▪️ Limited appeal options for affected students through review processes

▪️ Tighter controls on students frequently changing courses or education providers

▪️ Increased focus on educational opportunities for Australian residents

The proposal arrives as migration levels, rental affordability, and international student numbers continue to be major topics of national debate.

Supporters believe stronger regulations would improve compliance within the visa system and help ease pressure on housing.

Opponents argue international students make a significant contribution to Australia's economy, support thousands of jobs, and play an important role in the higher education sector.

What do you think?

Should Australia introduce tougher student visa requirements, or would stricter rules risk harming a sector that contributes significantly to the country's economy and cultural diversity?

Flamingos are reportedly returning to Rawal Lake after a long absence, but the situation has turned concerning as wildlife authorities investigate claims that a flock was allegedly hunted.

According to initial reports, around 12 to 13 flamingos may have been killed by suspected poachers, with possible involvement of local individuals. The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board has launched an inquiry, collecting evidence and informing police for further legal action.

Officials say such incidents are ecologically alarming, especially since flamingo sightings at the lake are already rare. The investigation is ongoing, and strict action is expected if violations are confirmed.

Did you know that Tipu Sultan, the 18th-century ruler of Mysore, was a pioneer in rocket warfare? Known as the "Tiger of Mysore," Tipu Sultan developed and deployed iron-cased rockets, called "Mysorean rockets," against British forces during the Anglo-Mysore Wars. These innovative weapons, with a range of up to 2 kilometers, were among the earliest military rockets used in warfare and inspired the development of modern rocketry, including the Congreve rockets used by the British. Tipu's forward-thinking approach to military technology, combined with his fierce resistance against colonial rule, cemented his legacy as a visionary leader and innovator.

We watched it happen in America. Trump said outrageous, dangerous and often incoherent things, yet much of the media treated it as normal politics. Instead of calling it out, they normalised it. What once seemed unthinkable slowly became acceptable.

Now we're seeing the same playbook with Pauline Hanson.

She's featured on entertainment shows, interviewed on mainstream platforms, and presented as just another political voice with a different opinion. In doing so, many overlook a decades-long record built on division, fear and targeting vulnerable communities.

This is how fringe ideas move into the mainstream. Give them airtime. Treat them as ordinary. Repeat it often enough, and people forget where the line used to be.

The same pattern helped elevate Trump. Wealthy backers and powerful media platforms turned a fringe figure into a cultural and political force. By the time many recognised what was happening, the conversation had already shifted.

It's happening here too. Billionaires don't bankroll politicians because they care about struggling Australians. They do it because policies that weaken worker protections and benefit big business can be worth billions.

Fund the fringe. Platform the extremism. Put it on prime time. Keep repeating it until people forget what normal looks like.

We shouldn't forget. And we shouldn't stay quiet about it.
