💚 *A Proud Moment for Every Pathanian Around the World* 💚
A truly special milestone that fills every Pathanian heart with pride, wherever you are in the world.
The Isipathana Old Boys’ Association Australia proudly congratulates Major General Manada Yahampath on his appointment as the 68th Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army, effective 2nd April 2026 — a position that stands among the highest honours in military service.
This prestigious appointment reflects not only his outstanding capabilities but also the strong values, discipline, and character nurtured at Isipathana. His achievement is a powerful reminder of the legacy we all carry as Pathanians. Rising through a series of senior appointments — including Deputy Chief of Staff, Commander of Security Forces – Jaffna, Commander of Security Forces – Central, and General Officer Commanding of the 52 Infantry Division — he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership at the highest levels. From serving on the frontlines during Sri Lanka’s most challenging times as a battle-hardened infantry and Special Forces officer to leading key formations, his service has been defined by sacrifice, leadership, and honour.
He has also served as Colonel of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry , a role that reflects the deep respect and trust placed in him by his peers and institution. At every stage, he has demonstrated composure under pressure, strategic clarity, and an unshakable sense of duty.
This prestigious appointment reflects not only his outstanding capabilities, but also the strong values, discipline, and character nurtured at Isipathana. His achievement is a powerful reminder of the legacy we all carry as Pathanians.
We salute Major General Yahampath on this historic achievement and wish him strength, wisdom, and continued success as he takes on this great responsibility in service of the nation.
💚 Once a Pathanian, Always a Pathanian! 💚
