✨ ♥️ 💛 🖤✨
To celebrate Reconciliation Week, my husband, friends and I headed along to our Cardinia cultural centre Winter Sets where the act ‘Charlie Needs Braces’ performed and honestly, what a fantastic night.

The music was completely infectious and had the whole intergenerational crowd up dancing, moving and joining in. Such a fun, joyful atmosphere while also sharing meaningful and healing stories around caring for Country and celebrating First Nations culture and language.

I loved learning new Indigenous words and meanings throughout the night too, including “Woy Woy”, understood to mean “big lagoon” or “deep water” in the Darkinjung language, connected to the waterways of the NSW Central Coast. Such a beautiful reminder of the deep connection between language, culture and Country.

Charlie and Miri created such a warm, fun, gentle interactive experience through music, storytelling, puppetry and dance. You could feel how much heart went into the performance- it was exciting, soothing and delightful all at once.

💙 The Cardinia Cultural Centre honestly continues to surprise and delight me-there is always something interesting, creative and high quality happening locally and it’s well worth checking out.

❄️ The Cardinia cultural center Winter Sets series has an awesome line-up coming up too, including the ⭐️ Star power of INXS Andrew Farriss performing right here in Cardinia! -Check it out!
