Audrey & Remi’s Christmas Toy Drive 🎄

Each year Inspired Early Learning supports a charity for Christmas. In previous years we have supported the Salvation Army and Back Packs for Kids.
As we approach Christmas we remember the true essence of this time of year: giving, sharing, and spreading joy.

In the spirit of the Christmas, we are excited to announce our Annual Christmas Charity Toy Drive this year will be supporting a cause a little closer to home. Amy the founder of children’s label Ziggy Lou’s son Remi has been going through treatment for cancer this past year. They have spent countless hours at Monash Children’s Hospital and have seen firsthand how small gifts can bring joy to children during such a tough time.

Monash Children’s hospital is fantastic hospital and what better opportunity for us to give back. The gift of a new toy can make all the difference in a child’s life.

Collection Dates for Inspired Early Leaning: 28/10 - 28/11

Our Kindergarten children had an amazing time venturing out to Twisted Science as part of our Science Week celebrations.

The children were full of excitement as they dove into a hands-on sensory science workshop—experimenting with gas and flames, bouncing water beads of all shapes and sizes, and even creating their very own snow-like texture.

We were also lucky enough to explore the incredible floor exhibits, where the fun continued. From experimenting with bubbles to wandering through the upside-down room, every moment sparked curiosity, laughter, and a whole lot of learning.

A huge thank you to our wonderful family volunteers who joined and helped to make this day such a memorable success. We’re so grateful for your support in making hands-on learning experiences like these possible.

Recently, our Inspired learners enthusiastically participated in Dental Health Week, engaging in meaningful discussions and activities focused on maintaining healthy teeth and overall wellbeing.

We were thrilled to welcome a special visit from the Tooth Fairy, who shared valuable messages about the importance of brushing twice a day and staying hydrated with plenty of water to keep our smiles bright.

Throughout the week, children practiced effective toothbrushing techniques, identified tooth-friendly foods, and began exploring the connection between nutrition and oral health. These hands-on experiences sparked curiosity and encouraged the development of lifelong healthy habits.

We're incredibly proud of our young learners for embracing these important lessons with such excitement and care.

Term 3 has commenced and proudly all 6 of our educational environments have been adventuring our community, exploring the adjacent Aboriginal heritage site, and discovering the magic of the outdoors. From climbing and balancing to searching high and low for animal life, every outing is packed with curiosity, laughter, and learning.

Community outings aren’t just any day—they’re a joyful mix of fun, friendship, and hands-on learning that remind us to embrace every moment, whether basking in the sun or dancing in the rain.

Here’s to more adventures, more discoveries, and maybe a few more puddles along the way.

As an extension of our children’s growing fascination with dinosaurs—sparked even more by a recent visit one of our friends made to Dinosaur World, our Koalas children's have been busy exploring all things prehistoric.

The children have been diving into a variety of dinosaur-themed experiments and activities:

Creating our very own “fossils” using salt dough
Making dinosaur footprints to resemble fossil imprints
Exploring an interactive dinosaur world enhanced with colourful lights to fuel their imaginations

Next, we’re looking forward to creating our very own dinosaur dig in the sandpit—just waiting on some warm weather to make it extra fun! It’s been amazing to watch the children’s curiosity and creativity come to life through these activities.

We can’t wait to see where their imagination takes us next.

Winter is the Perfect Time to Prepare for Spring..

Inspired by our recent excursion to Willum Warrain, we've been busy updating our gardens with indigenous fruits, vegetables, and herbs – getting ready for a bountiful spring harvest.

Have you seen our amazing Koalas Children Project? Not only are we growing nutritious, native produce, but we’re also giving unused gumboots a second life by turning them into quirky, sustainable garden planters. We couldn't be more proud! ♻️

Our Emus have kicked off planting their lemongrass, while our clever Kookaburras and Wallabies children have repositioned the planter boxes to make the most of the winter sunshine – and hopefully, just the right amount of rain!

It’s all hands on deck for a greener, more sustainable future ♻️

We were thrilled to welcome Darren from DM Sports, who brought his energy, enthusiasm, and expertise to introduce our little learners to the game of basketball. The children absolutely loved the opportunity to explore new skills and challenge themselves in a fun, supportive environment.

From bouncing basketballs to practicing our dribbling techniques, every moment was filled with laughter, learning, and lots of movement! Darren also helped us work on our cross-lateral skills—activities that not only boost coordination but also support brain development and overall physical confidence.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, active bodies, and curious minds engaging with the sport.

Today, we celebrated World Ocean Day with a hands-on, educational adventure exploring the fascinating world beneath the waves.

Firstly, we discovered just how massive a whale truly is—did you know a whale can be as long as six elephants, which is about the length of a jumbo jet?

Our children had the opportunity to explore real ocean artefacts, including the jaw of a shark, the delicate size of a sea horse, and even listened to the soothing sound of the ocean through shells. The highlight of the day? Getting up close and personal with amazing sea creatures. The children held a sea urchin, felt the texture of a sea star, and experienced the squishy, slimy sensation of a sea cucumber. It was an unforgettable sensory experience!

At Inspired, we believe it's essential for children to discover and learn through nature and living things. Today was a beautiful reminder of the wonders of our oceans and the importance of protecting them for future generations 🐠

Today, our Kookaburras and Wallabies Kindergarten children enjoyed their first excursion of 2025, to Willum Warrain in Hastings for a cultural immersion. 🖤💛❤️

We began our morning with the Aboriginal story "Family" by Aunty Fay Muir and Sue Lawson. As each page came to life, we explored real artefacts featured in the book — including hand-woven baskets, possum skins, a coolamon (used for carrying babies and items), and marngrook, a traditional Aboriginal football made from possum skin.

Our adventure continued with a walk through Country. We stepped inside a clay hut, locating the symbolic markings on its walls, then followed the Koorie Bush Tucker Trail where the children bravely tasted native plants — the salty flavour of Bullagai was a big hit.

A deeply moving smoking ceremony followed. With ochre designs painted on our faces, we gathered in quiet reflection, connecting with the land, each other, and the rich traditions shared with us.

One of the children’s favourite moments? Sharing a relaxed, picnic-style lunch together with their special lunchboxes — a time for connection, storytelling, and reflection. Thank you to our wonderful Educators and family volunteers for providing a wonderful learning excursion for our Inspired children.

As we honour Reconciliation Week, we remain committed to embedding cultural learning into our curriculum — nurturing respect, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for Aboriginal culture, knowledge, and connection to Country. 🌿
