This is a warning for the Deaf community in Western Australia. Over this long weekend, there is a risk of damaging winds and flooding on the West and South West WA Coast.

We will share another update if more information becomes available.

What a wonderful day we had yesterday—full of activities, with 42 ladies attending!

We held our 10th AGM, and it was our shortest one yet.
No elections were required, as most committee members are happy to continue in their roles for another 12 months.
However, our President, Melissa Anderson, has stepped down from her position.
We welcomed two new ladies to the group, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic year ahead.

A highlight of the day was a presentation by three amazing ladies on the 3 Capes Walk in Tasmania—an informative and inspiring talk about a truly challenging achievement.

We were also fortunate to have Varsha, a physiotherapist, present an insightful session on incontinence. It was extremely informative, and many of us are considering booking a consultation with her.

Our next event will be a day trip to Bendigo on Saturday, 13th June 2026—please see the flyer for details.

More information will follow shortly.

Hey Ladies,

Saturday 18th April, Doors will open from 10.00am at JPC.

It’s not long to go until our 10th AGM — and it’s promised to be our shortest meeting ever!

Following the AGM, we’ll enjoy a presentation from members sharing their experiences on the 3 Capes Walk in Tasmania — it should be a wonderful and inspiring session.

After lunch, a physiotherapist will be joining us to talk about managing bladder health. This is something many women experience, and it will be an informative and practical session.

We’ll finish the day with afternoon tea.

No need to RSVP, come along

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

We, Deaf Women Victoria wishes you all a very Happy Easter… enjoy your day with your family and friends… 😊

April is fast approaching!

Our next event on Saturday 18th April, will be a full and exciting one, featuring our 10th AGM, a presentation on the ‘3 Capes Walk’ by our members, and an ‘Incontinence Presentation’ by a Physiotherapist.

We aim to start the AGM promptly at 11:00am, so doors will open from 10:00am.

The 3 Capes Walk was recently completed by some of our members. They found it challenging, but incredibly rewarding, and are excited to share their experience—it should be very inspiring for everyone.

We will also have an Incontinence Presentation by a physiotherapist, Varsha. She was recommended to us by one of her deaf clients, and we’re looking forward to knowing more about her ideas and tips on managing bladder control.

Wishing you all a very happy Easter, enjoy it all as much as you can and stay safe

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

What an awesome day we had last Saturday, with about 50 women in attendance!

We were treated to an eye-opening AI presentation by Teresa Paulet.

There were several interactive activities on how to spot what is ‘fake’ and what is ‘real’ — and it certainly wasn’t easy!

Teresa guided us on how to stay safe and be cautious when using AI (Artificial Intelligence), which is still so new to many of us. She also shared helpful tips on how to protect ourselves when using our computers and mobile devices.
We used a photo that was taken during our National Deaf Women Weekend into an AI image – a funny one indeed !

In recognition of Valentine’s Day, the ladies wore red — it was such a beautiful sight seeing the room filled with red!

The day ended around 5.00pm, although many didn’t want to go home as everyone was happily chatting and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere.
We invited the volunteers from our weekend last October for a dinner at a hotel nearby as our thanks for their wonderful support.

Please note: Our next event will be held on Saturday, 18th April (not 11th April) for our 10th AGM.
A presentation, ‘Understanding Medicines’ has been postponed to August and we are simply waiting for another presenter to be confirmed. It will take place in the afternoon.
More information will follow.
