🎭 Happy World Theatre Day 🎭

Today we’re celebrating the people behind every moment on stage.

To our cast who bring the energy, our creatives who shape the vision, our crew who make it all run seamlessly, and our incredible supporters who back us every step of the way — thank you.

Theatre is built on heart, hustle and community, and we’re so proud of the one we’ve created together at Theatrical. Every rehearsal, every show, every late night and standing ovation is only possible because of you.

And we’re just getting started… 👀

Our next production, Bring It On, is coming soon — and we can’t wait to share it with you.

💜 Happy International Women’s Day 💜

This year’s theme from UN Women Australia, Balance the Scales, is a powerful reminder that every woman and girl deserves to be safe, heard, and free to shape her own future.

In theatre, the stories we tell, and the voices who tell them, matter. From the women and girls who light up the stage, to the female directors, choreographers, designers and creatives working behind the scenes, every role helps create a more balanced and representative industry.

We can’t wait to bring our next production, Bring It On, to the stage — a female-led show brought to life by incredible female creatives.

From the women and girls who light up the stage, to the female directors, choreographers, designers and creatives working behind the scenes, every role helps create a more balanced and representative industry.

We’re proud to play even a small role in supporting women and girls bringing their talent and creativity to the stage.

We’re committed to building a bold, high energy and genuinely diverse cast for Bring It On and we want performers who bring individuality, strength and presence to the room.

We are especially encouraging male presenting performers and artists from BIPOC backgrounds to audition. This is a fun, supportive and inclusive opportunity to be part of a large scale musical theatre production, whether you come from a traditional musical theatre background or other performance and movement disciplines.

We are proud to foster an environment where inclusion is intentional and diversity is genuinely celebrated, both on and off stage.

Inspired by the hit film franchise, this crowd favourite follows champion cheerleader Campbell as she is unexpectedly transferred to a rival school and forced to rebuild her identity, her squad and her idea of success.

Featuring a killer score by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tom Kitt and Amanda Green, this show fuses musical theatre, hip hop and competitive cheer into a non stop spectacle of dance, athleticism and heart.

🎤 New to self tapes?
Here is a simple guide to help you film a clear, confident singing audition from home.

1. Find a quiet spot
Choose a calm, tidy area with no background noise. A plain wall is perfect.

2. Set up your phone
Prop it up so it stays steady, keep the camera at eye level, and stand close enough so your voice is clear.

3. Good lighting
Face a window or lamp so we can see your face clearly. Avoid bright lights behind you.

4. Frame yourself
Head and shoulders in the shot. Stand centred. Take a moment to breathe before you begin.

5. Slate
Say your name clearly and the songs you’re auditioning for clearly. Keep it short and sweet.

6. Sing your audition
Play your backing track on another device and keep the volume low so your voice stands out.
Stay close to the phone for clear sound, or use a small mic if you have one.

7. Save and send
Name your file with your name and the role, then upload it exactly as the instructions say.

✨ Moments like these remind us why we do what we do✨

Earlier this week, a parent reached out to share how our cast lifted the spirits of her son who has recently finished chemo.

When he met the cast after the show and told them his story, they erupted into cheers and chanted his name, celebrating his strength and resilience.

It’s such a powerful reminder of what theatre can do; connect, uplift, and spread a little light.

Thank you to this beautiful family for sharing your story with us and we’re glad we could bring some joy!
