Mending Casts Inc

We provide free, nature-based retreats for people navigating cancer. All activities are aimed at raising funds for our cancer retreats.

A self-funded charity, retreats are made possible through the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Mending Casts committee members & volunteers are involved in a wide range of community gatherings, ranging from formal events for established fly fishing clubs or state/local government agencies to smaller social group activities. Every dollar that is raised is directed back into our retreat programs and the activities which support them as we are a self-funded not-for-profit organisation run solely by volunteers.

🎣 We're heading to the Central Highlands!

Mending Casts will be at Miena and Liawenee next weekend, so if you are attending either of these fabulous events, we'd love you to come and say "hello".

📍 Saturday 10 October – Great Lake Tie-In
Great Lake Community Centre, 55–57 C***r Gum Rd, Miena | 10am – 3pm

📍 Sunday 11 October – IFS Trout Weekend
Liawenee, Yingina / Great Lake | 10am – 3pm

Visit our stand to find out more about our free fly-fishing retreats for people affected by cancer. Our retreats combine fly-fishing instruction and peer support with time in nature, and we match every participant with their personal volunteer buddy. We're working towards bringing our retreats to Tasmania, so if you're a local angler, volunteer, healthcare worker or supporter, we'd especially love to meet you.

TRIVIA NIGHT
We’ve just had 4 seats become available to our otherwise sold out trivia night fundraiser this coming Saturday night at Heidelberg Golf Club. Tickets $50 each which includes 2 share platters of finger foods. Lots of great silent auction items, a $2000 travel voucher from Travel Managers and guided fishing days from Mountain Fly and Millbrook Lakes.
