The Australian Fatwa Council has confirmed that the blessed month of Ramadan will commence on 19th February 2026.

As we enter this sacred and spiritually significant time, may Allah fill our hearts and homes with faith, patience, and unity. Ramadan is a time to renew our intentions, increase in worship, and extend kindness and generosity to those around us.

We also look forward to sharing the blessings of this month together at our community iftars on:
• Saturday, 21st February
• Saturday, 7th March

Throwback to a meaningful project in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰🤍

Alhamdulillah, following the floods in Sri Lanka last year (2025), UMMA was able to support a community project at Al Mubarak Primary School, Malawana, which concluded in January 2026.

Through the generosity of our community, essential items including steel cabinets and whiteboards were handed over to the school, helping restore classrooms that were damaged by the floods.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed and supported this effort. We would also like to thank Malik Zaveer for being on the ground and representing UMMA in personally handing over the items.

May Allah accept it as sadaqah and allow us to continue serving communities in need. Ameen.

Assalamu Alaikum,

As one blessed chapter comes to a close and a new committee takes its place, we pause in reflection and gratitude. We honour the founder members and the first committee, whose sacrifices and vision united the Sri Lankan Muslim community in brotherhood.

We extend heartfelt thanks to President Malik Zaveer for his visionary leadership and lasting contributions. May Allah ﷻ accept his efforts, reward him abundantly, and grant him barakah.

As the responsibility now passes to President Rukshan Carim and the new committee, we pray that Allah ﷻ blesses them with wisdom, sincerity, and strength. May their work bring benefit to the community and strengthen our unity.
