Ohh I love the Daisyboxes so much…

The way they can be personalised is beautiful, the way they offer choice at funerals for loved ones and friends to create something special and connect with their person at the forefront is beautiful 🩷

We did a carry test once “just in case it didn’t do what it said in the tin” ha ha

Now after many times using them I can confirm they absolutely do and they are such a wonderful alternative for those who wish to use them :)

Is a cardboard casket strong enough to carry someone you love?

Yes. Daisyboxes are used by tens of thousands.

This is no cereal box!

Simple. Honest. Trustworthy.

The second event this week is Hampton Death Cafe.

Also on Wednesday 12-1 p.m. at Hampton Community Centre. This is a wonderful safe space to come along and chat all things death, dying, grief & living while enjoying a cuppa & a piece of cake 🙂

Making death less taboo, one conversation at a time.

Welcome to Monday 🙂

I have 2 things on this week to share with you all 🙂

The first being a community talk which will be held at Frankston South Recreation & Community Centre.

This is on Wednesday 9:30-10:30 a.m.

I’ll be bringing the “Before The Last Chapter” Workshop. A gentle introduction to thinking about your end of life. It offers a safe space to explore what matters most to you in your final chapter.

No pressure to have answers, just an invitation to begin 🙂

Thinking about death is really thinking about how you want to live 🙂

Refreshments provided and I would love to see you there. Smiles, Jen x

i survived the phone call. the funeral. the weird quiet after everybody stopped checking in.

but the version of me that existed before that loss?
yeah… she’s gone too.

grief doesn’t always make you “sad” forever.
sometimes it just changes you at your core.
the way you love. the way you react. the way you look at life.

i still laugh. i still live.
but i’m not the same person i was before it happened.
and i don’t think i ever will be again.

Hhmmm I love that younger people are exploring this 🩷🩷I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas also :)Jen x

A student design project from Madrid asks a question that might make some folks very uncomfortable:
What if deathcare infrastructure wasn't hidden away from everyday life?

"Hot to Go" reimagines Madrid's largest cemetery as a living public space where cremation heat is captured and reused to support remembrance gardens, edible landscapes, digital memorial archives, and even a heated public pool.

Before you start picturing people cannonballing into "cremation pool water," it's worth noting that the project is only speculative. But the idea behind it touches on an important question: why do we work so hard to separate the spaces of death from the spaces of life?

For many cultures the dead have remained part of daily community life. Today, standard deathcare in the West often pushes death to the edges of our comunities, and in result, our conversations.

What if it was common for cemeteries to be not just places of remembrance, but also of gathering, connection, and community? Can we begin to reimagine the infrastructure of death to be designed to benefit both the living and the dead?

Whether you find the idea inspiring, unsettling, or somewhere in between, we love projects like this because they challenge us to rethink what a cemetery can be.

Hot to Go was designed for a Bachelor In Design course– Design Studio III by Ariadna Fernández Yenes, Estrella García Escribano, Marion Isabelle Agathe Vincey and Nilsu Ozdikicioglu.

I attended the last planting day and it was beautiful 🙂

Filled my everything as being at Mornington Green always does 🙂

I met some lovely people and also giggled lots on the inside as many of these people I will be partying, picnicking & planting in a different way with in the next life…

Everything about Mornington Green is special and as always super happy to come along with you, walk around, sit & have a tea in the gardens as spending time there, knowing death still allows for life and makes room for living really does make my heart happy 🩷

Yesterday was a special one 🙂

An early start had me setting off amongst the wonderful fog to accompany Carly from GreenHaven Funerals at Lillydale for a special graveside burial.

Then back to our “home” in Mordy to get ready for our first Doula Dinner in our new hub 🩷

We had Sarah from Victoria Nurse Practitioner Services come along and impart her knowledge on us and answer any of our questions.

Collaboration, Education & Community

It was a special evening for so many reasons but seeing the kitchen become the hub of the “home” really did fill Jen & I souls and give our hearts & minds “your on the right path” hug ###

Thank you everyone for showing up for yourself & for your future families.

Now I better go and get ready… today I am back with Carly for a beautiful funeral for a much loved gentleman in Albert Park 🙂

Do what you love and it will never feel like work 🩷
