A sold out Sausage Sizzle!

That means another student from the Intensive Language Centre at Cyril Jackson Senior High School will be going to Rotary Youth Leadership Award - a life changing leadership development camp.

Thank you to the amazing young people on Rotary Youth Exchange Western Australia who helped, our club volunteers, and all our fabulous customers, including Matty Pham!

Thank you to everyone that came to the Maylands Free Community BBQ today!

It was great to see returning ‘customers’, first timers, neighbours (one lured by the smell of cooking onions 😆), people on their own or with family or friends. Everyone was welcomed!

The sausages and home made salads were a hit, as was Merv’s sublime music!

Thank you again to our sponsors, Dan Bull MLA (pictured with Alison from Maylands Rotary), Lyric’s Bar - Lyric Lane Maylands, Ambrosia Catering & Event Hire and Grind at The Rise.

A big thank you as always to the Maylands Sport & Rec club for their amazing venue and partnership.

Last night, Maylands Rotary and Maylands Sport & Rec (MSRC) co-hosted a Volunteer Week event for Maylands community groups.

13 groups shared about their purpose and activities. Then we had a lively discussion on opportunities for collaboration and mutual support, including a communication platform, shared volunteer drive and database (subject to privacy regulations), and a Community Expo. We agreed to meet again in six weeks time to progress these ideas. Watch this space!

Thank you to our three local representatives who came and supported us, Dan Bull MLA, Elli Petersen-Pik - Deputy Mayor City of Bayswater, and Cr Nat Latter - City of Bayswater, South Ward.

Thank you to Volunteering WA and LotteryWest for the grant that funded the event.

Thank you to Chef Shane for the amazing food.

Thank you to MSRC for their fantastic and recently upgraded venue.

Most of all, thank you to the participants; incredible volunteers who run the groups that contribute so much to our community life.
