Crestmead Police-Citizens Youth Club officially opened in July 2009 in response to community need. It is one of the newest PCYCs and continues the long tradition, started in 1948, of providing sporting, recreational, cultural and welfare programs for all members of the community with the mission of Enhancing Queensland Communities Through Youth Development. The Crestmead PCYC was introduced to the community in response to a specific need for youth engagement in Crestmead and the surrounding community. This venture was supported by the Logan City Council; the Community Renewal Program; and the Australian Government’s Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government. The Club has been established with a program-specific charter, offering a range of early intervention, crime prevention, personal development and welfare programs targeting youth ‘at risk’ and their immediate influences. Crestmead PCYC is leading the way in providing youth programs tailored to meet the needs of its community and offers a range of activities and programs for members of the Crestmead, Marsden and Browns Plains community. Members of the community (regardless of age) can come down and participate in the range of activities on hand such as music & dance lessons, boxing, aikido, Boxfit and kickboxing. We also offer a range of School Age Care services for Crestmead and the surrounding areas, as we currently run services from Yugumbir State School, St Francis College, Browns Plains State School, and Waterford West State School.
