🌺 ANZAC Day Service – Majors Creek 🌺

Join us this ANZAC Day as the Majors Creek community comes together to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country.

March starts at 0830, gather at the Fire shed at 0800, Service starts after the March at St Stephen’s Church, Hill St Majors Creek.

This year’s service will include a special commemoration for PTE Merton, a proud son of Majors Creek, whose service and sacrifice remain an important part of our local history.

We are also honoured to welcome LTCOL Dan Swale from the NZ Defence Force as our guest speaker, who will share reflections on service, sacrifice, and the enduring ANZAC spirit.

Hi All.

Update for everyone re the proposed Solar Farm etc....

I've spoken with John Tuckwell Secretary of Braidwood Clean Energy this afternoon.

There were multiple sites looked at. Confidentiality Agreements currently in place as the lease of the subject property is not finalised.

They are however suggesting it is within the broad area known as Ballalaba, which probably means not Majors Creek the way I read it.

I have suggested their team may want to come and address the MCPA meeting on the 15th March.

Will keep everyone informed as I may meet with them prior so i can add something to the agenda from an informed position.

Pop down to the pub today for a fabulous fundraiser for Majors Creek Hall… hope to see you there. 🐷 🤩 🎉

Reminder-
Sunday is the Pub fund raiser for the Recreation Hall. The event is being held at Majors Creek Pub. Starting at 11am. There are food vans, cow pat lotto, raffles, market stalls, face painting, music and to finish off the night a bush dance with the SSnakebyte Brothers Bush Band. The weather is going to be fantastic, and it will be a good family friendly event.
If coming to the event parking at the recreation reserve and walking to the pub is suggested. Please bring cash (small notes) as there is no ATM in Majors Creek and no cash out at the Pub.
Bring camp chairs, picnic blankets and a warm jacket (just in case). Please DO NOT bring alcohol or food - the event is being held on pub property. Tuk Shop Food Van and the Pub providing coffee, food and drinks all at a reasonable price.

SAVE THE DATE - Sunday 22 February 2026
Majors Creek Pub are hosting an event to raise money for the Majors Creek Recreation Reserve and playground.

There will be lots happening on the day including pig racing, music, 🎶 market stalls, raffles, food 🥘 vans etc.

Come along. It looks like a fun 🤩 day out!!!!!
