Last Saturday night, some of our club members attended the trivia night hosted by the Rotary Club of Eastwood-Gladesville. The event raised funds for GiantSteps and A Friends Place -NCCG (operated by The National Centre for Childhood Grief).

Over 100 attendees gathered at St Kevin's Eastwood church hall. The atmosphere was filled with vibrant team spirit, friendly competition, and generosity. There was a raffle draw, silent auction, and we heard from representatives from both charities.

Giant Steps is a school based in Gladesville that helps children and their families meet the challenges of Autism. Established in 1995, the school integrates both teaching and therapy (music, occupational, and speech) throughout their programs.

The National Centre for Childhood Grief states that 1 in 20 Australian children will experience the death of a parent before the age of 18. Offering specialised individual and group counselling in a safe and welcoming space, children and their families learn to live with their grief through building resilience and empowering them to live their best lives.

This morning I represented the Rotary Club of Macquarie Park attending the Rotary Police Awards ceremony hosted with Rotary Club of Fairfield for the Fairfield Police Area Command.

Welcome to our new member Chris Bertacco. Chris has attended our meetings regularly the past three months and became an official member on Wednesday.

If you are curious about Rotary, join us on a Wednesday morning at 7.30am at Next Sense Cafe (2 Gymnasium Road, Macquarie Park). We meet for our weekly breakfast meeting and discuss implementation of some of our new and ongoing projects for the community. If you are passionate about helping, come and see how to lend a hand.

Many of our Rotary friends volunteer in Nepal, working with Rotary clubs there and other services.
Donations will help provide essential assistance to those affected by the disaster, including medical supplies, food, safe drinking water, clothing and other urgent necessities, followed by longer-term disaster recovery and rebuilding.
Funds raised will be dispersed in Nepal by our trusted Rotary partners, the Rotary Club Rudramati in Kathmandu, who will work directly with the affected communities, ensuring assistance reaches those who need it most.

Tickets are now on sale for the Rotary NSW Police Officer of the Year Awards event for 2026 - new venue this year - Ilumina, 1 Elizabeth Street, Sydney (right above the Martin Place Metro Train station). Tickets are $160 per head includes pre-dinner drinks, 3 course meal with fine wines and after the Awards, entertainment from the NSW Police Band.

This is a celebration of all NSW Police from across the State and hosted by the Rotary Club of Macquarie Park and Rotary Club of Sydney.
