Speechcraft is designed for beginners and is focused on helping you grow your confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Wondering what happens in the Speak with Confidence in 4 Weeks – Online Public Speaking Short Course?

Our Speechcraft programme is designed to build confidence step by step:

🔹Week 1 – 3 June: Introduction, educational sessions and Table Topics
🔹Week 2 – 10 June: More educational sessions and speaking practice
🔹Break – 17 June: Time to work on your speech
🔹Week 3 – 24 June: Participants’ speeches
🔹Week 4 – 1 July: Final speeches and graduation

All sessions run online from 12 noon to 1 pm.

You’ll get practical communication practice, supportive feedback, and the chance to grow your confidence in a friendly environment.

We’re excited to launch our Speak with Confidence in 4 Weeks – Online Public Speaking Short Course, starting Wednesday 3 June. It runs over four lunchtime sessions from 12 noon to 1 pm and is designed for beginners who want to build confidence, improve communication skills, and practise speaking in a supportive environment.

Hosted by Mackay Lunchmasters Toastmasters Club, with support from experienced Toastmasters in Brisbane, this short course is ideal for busy professionals who want practical speaking skills they can use straight away.

Places are limited, so early enrolment is recommended.

At our last meeting, Tim had his first turn as Toastmaster and Lynne gave us a masterclass on how to deliver the joke and word of the day off the cuff. Veanna shared some of her public speaking journey with us in her Ice Breaker speech before we had an educational on how to evaluate/give feedback. Then Mikel had us delving into Reddit forums for our impromtu speaking activity.

Our next Lunchtime Toastmasters Club Meeting is on 20 November. We'll be having a couple more Ice Breaker speeches from our members. We'd love to see you there! Bring a friend and come experience a meeting for yourself.

At our last meeting, we had our club's first Ice Breaker speeches - a major milestone for our club and our new members. Congratulations Mikel and Tim! You've officially begun your Toastmasters journey.

Our next Lunchtime Toastmasters Club Meeting is on 6 November. We'll be running an educational session on how to evaluate a speech (otherwise known as how to give feedback). We'd love to see you there! Bring a friend and join us for a fun and informative session.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended our second meeting! Our meeting theme was "New Beginnings" and we had another big crowd come along to find out what we're all about.

🔹Our first official member, Mikel 🎉 presented a joke and word of the day (Foundation) to start off the meeting.
🔹Visiting Toastmaster Laura, gave a speech about following your childhood dreams, which was evaluated by Luke.
🔹Nearly everyone had a go at the impromptu speaking activity and shared a wide variety of life experiences, from netball seasons that didn't go as planned to working on the reef and all sorts of hilarity in between.
🔹Experienced Toastmaster Lynne ran an educational on how to select a speech topic.

Please come along to our next meeting on Wednesday, 2 October. We'll be doing a mini session on preparing a speech so please have an idea for a speech topic ready to go.
