🌍 Our Play Your Way Around the World journey took us on a special adventure to Burundi, where we also had a special visit from Hon Tanya Plibersek (Minister for Social Services) and the Hon Dr Jim Chalmers (Treasurer).

As part of showcasing the Logan Together movement, we took Play Your Way Around the World to a different community venue, creating an opportunity to connect with more families and share the power of play, learning and belonging.

Through crafts, stories and hands-on cultural activities, children and families explored Burundi together while building curiosity, connections and understanding in a fun and engaging way.

The Central Logan Focus Community proudly delivers Play Your Way Around the World, an initiative co-designed by community through the 100 Day Challenge. After seeing the value this approach brings to children and families, we're excited to continue sharing and growing this work across Logan, creating even more opportunities for families to connect, learn and thrive through play and culture. 💛

We're also partnering with JB Basketball to provide a FREE Basketball Skills & Drills Clinic, helping local children stay active, build confidence and have fun during the school holidays. 🏀

We're excited to be co-hosting a FREE Basketball Skills & Drills Clinic for children and families! Come along to learn new basketball skills, build confidence, get active, and make new friends in a fun and supportive environment.

Come along on 30 June at Gould Adams Park for a fantastic day of family fun, connection and celebration as part of Refugee Week!

What a wonderful morning we had! 🌍🤟

We recently hosted a fantastic "Auslan Play Your Way Around the World" session, beautifully facilitated by Janelle from Just Auslan.

Our families had so much fun diving into the world of Australian Sign Language (Auslan)!

Together, we learned how to sign greetings, colours, objects, and animals, and even practiced putting them into full sentences.

We also discovered some fascinating insights about the language, including:

The vital role of an interpreter 🗣️

Why you should always use your dominant hand 👋

How the position on your body changes a sign's meaning 📍

The massive importance of facial expressions! 😲

Was incredibly eye-opening to learn how Auslan differs from Key Word Sign.

🌏✨ Extra Play Your Way Around the World Session! ✨🌏

The Central Logan Focus Community has been given the opportunity to host an additional Play Your Way Around the World session at a new venue!

Next Friday, we'll be exploring Burundi through fun activities, crafts, games, stories and cultural learning.

Everyone is welcome, and we'd love to see you there! Bring your friends, family and sense of adventure as we journey around the world together.
