We’re thrilled to see our local MP Janelle Saffin - Member for Lismore share this update on the long overdue cleanup of the old Lismore train station.
Did you know that it's currently used as a major bus interchange for intercity services ? Not a very welcoming look for visitors or residents.

We can't wait to see the transformation! Upgrading our public transport infrastructure not only enhances the beauty of our city but also fosters civic pride by making our public spaces more inviting and functional for everyone.

Very pleased to report that TfNSW will do a major clean up of Lismore Railway Station later this month in time for the opening of the Rail Trail.

A number of people contacted me about this and I took action.

This is the ‘before’ picture.

When we allow piles of waste to become the norm, they continue to grow and negatively impact our environment and quality of life. It’s all about changing how we see ourselves and our city.

I've been walking past this slowly growing pile of rubbish on Keen St for the last few weeks. So, during my morning walk, I took just five minutes to clean it up.

Every small action contributes to the overall beauty and well-being of Lismore. By taking responsibility for our surroundings, we show that we care about our community and the city we all share.

Libraries are the heart of a community—not just as repositories of knowledge, but as gathering places that foster connection, learning, and imagination.
It's wonderful to see our library being given the respect it deserves, rather than being treated merely as a utilitarian space. By enhancing it with thoughtful design elements, we celebrate the importance of accessible public spaces that uplift and engage us all.

Thoughtful design not only enhances the beauty of our surroundings but also reflects our shared stories and values, making our city more welcoming and inspiring for everyone.

Every small action contributes to the overall beauty and vitality of our city. It's up to each of us to take initiative and make a positive impact where we can.

** If it's safe and possible, consider picking up any rubbish you see on your daily walks or visits to your favourite park. 🌳

** Let your local retailer know of any abandoned trolleys
👉 Woolworths / Big W - https://trolleytracker.com.au/
👉 Coles - https://www.coles.com.au/help/abandoned-trolley

** If there are issues with the maintenance of your local park that you cannot solve, did you know that you can report park maintenance issues to Lismore Council directly here

Connected communities are the foundation of a vibrant and thriving city. Accessible public and active transport options not only link us physically but also bring life and energy to our streets and public spaces.

The NSW Government is currently seeking feedback on the State Regional and Integrated Transport Plan for the North Coast region, which includes Lismore.

👉 Have your say here: https://www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/sritp/north-coast

By contributing your thoughts, you're helping to shape a more connected, accessible, and lively Lismore. Let's work together to enhance our city's appeal and ensure it remains a place where our community can flourish.
