Morning Tea - Tues 9th December 11am

We're sharing this for our Lismore Community, as it will be a good opportunity to hear of ongoing supports available and to meet newer people who have arrived in Lismore, plus to share ideas you may have to make things welcoming and even better for new arrivals.

Please prompt others you know who might benefit, even if you don't think you can attend yourself :-)

Sanctuary is celebrating the arrival of one new family of 9 people (mum and dad and 7 children) to our Lismore community, and there is another family of 6 arriving within a few weeks.

Both of these families have waited for a long time for their humanitarian visas to be approved, and are sponsored by both their well established families already settled in Australia, and also Sanctuary Northern Rivers.

We are currently assisting in setting up housing for each family, and welcome financial contributions to the need. Donations are Tax Deductible.

Although financial contributions are currently the most helpful way to support this need, within a few weeks we may also have a list of material needs that will be helpful as the families become more established. If you have items you would like to donate that you think may be useful, please email the information to [email protected]. Photos of items would also be helpful.

Donations can be made by Direct Credit to Sanctuary's bank account, using your Surname and first initial as a reference with the payment. Please ensure you also email [email protected] your contact information when you donate this way, as otherwise we have no means of sending a receipt or contacting the person who has donated.

Great to be at a fundraiser this arvy for Lismore Region Refugee Settlement

Band is great.... haven't heard "Caravan" for yonks.

A hopeful return to community refugee resettlement - and Lismore and Northern Rivers have proved how well we do that. So thankful for the large number of people who have become trusted friends over the years that Lismore has helped find a new sense of 'home'. A new beginning, and one new family arriving soon.
