We’ve hit $50,466 for Movember 2025.

That puts us at the top of the emergency services leaderboard, with Victoria Police in second place at $29,641. A massive effort all round.

It’s been a huge month and the team are finally enjoying some much-needed downtime.

A lot of this comes back to our captain, Tom Moir. He’s the bloke in the back left, never the one chasing the spotlight. His drive and genuine passion pulled this community together and helped us reach something pretty special.

Proud of this team.

He turned a "cry for help" into a $50,000 lifeline for others.

Well folks, this is it, The Final Mo-Down is tomorrow! Allow us to introduce you to the two big-hearted men who will be opening up in our expert panel discussion.

Tom Moir is a devoted dog dad, a loving partner and uncle, an amateur hockey player and golfer, a passionate music lover, and a Detective Senior Constable in the Northern Drugs and Fi****ms Unit in the Tasmania Police.

Joining up in 2014 when he was only 19 and experiencing countless traumatic incidents from such a young age, he was unaware and unequipped to deal with the realities of policing. A diagnosis of PTSD, severe anxiety and depression culminated in attempts on his life and a long, challenging recovery - one that has led him to becoming a passionate mental health advocate and proud Movember Community Ambassador.

“This event embodies what Movember is all about for me. Connection, vulnerability and a whole lot of fun. I’m so proud of what we’re achieving in this space and cannot bloody wait to celebrate what has been a mammoth 2025 campaign.”

Rob Shepherd served in the Air Force prior to policing, deploying Operationally to the Middle East, and spent several years working in the ship building industry. Since joining Tasmania Police 9 years ago, he has been thrown from a moving vehicle, had a hunting rifle pointed at him in the dead of night, and attended countless traumatic scenes. Currently managing the drone capability for Tasmania Police and working in the Special Operations Group as a Tactical Intelligence Officer, Rob values his rare downtime with wife Sara, and their two kids, Grace and Zoe.

Life and policing have left a few dents in Rob’s mental fitness, but he’s been fortunate to have great men in his corner encouraging him to seek support early, enabling him to avoid Mental Health Crisis.

“My passion for Movember comes from the need to destigmatise mental health conditions and help-seeking behaviour within the Emergency Services, and to build capacity for emergency workers to better support each other.”

The Final Mo-Down is nearly here, so it’s time to meet another of the event’s impact-makers!

Bianca Welsh is a passionate Mental Health Educator and mentor, graduating with a Bachelor of Behavioural Science in 2018. With lived experience caring for loved ones suffering from mental illness and poor mental health she is dedicated to assisting others to find a path forward.

The loss of her second son at full term gestation from a termination for medical reasons, and her subsequent diagnosis of PTSD, has meant her work in the mental health space now has a deeper meaning. She shares her experiences of grief and loss, and interviews others on their healing journeys, in her recently released podcast - From Experience: The Grief Collection.

Seeing many men in her life suffer from the stigmas that mental health issues bring, particularly to masculine culture, Bianca has long been an active supporter of Movember. She’s honoured to be a part of the First to Respond, First to Talk events. She admires the dedication and passion of the team and knows the work they do has an incredible and lasting impact.

“Like so many others, I’ve had my share of mental health struggles. The team do an incredible job with these events, providing a safe and inclusive environment to share some real insight into important aspects of mental health. I’m absolutely stoked to be part of The Final Mo-Down.”

Fergus Poynter is a husband, father, podiatrist, musician, and devoted lover of the outdoors - someone who genuinely enjoys wearing many hats. Born and raised in Launceston, he’s passionate about giving back to the community, especially through his involvement in the local music scene.

“I’m really excited to be involved with The Final Mo-Down. Not only being able to share my music, but to help spread the word and create as much awareness as possible of the importance of caring for your mental health - a cause that is very close to my heart.”

Katie Hill is an actor, Clown Doctor, stand-up comedian, puppeteer, and theatre technician. She knows her way around a microphone and has emceed a few events in her time.

The Final Mo-Down is an event that doesn’t just entertain, it makes a difference. Don’t miss the chance to hear from professionals who champion men’s health in their chosen fields.

Meet the second of these dedicated impact-makers!

Dee Cooper is a clinical psychologist and the director of Synapse Psychology in Launceston. As an accredited EMDR trainer, Dee is passionate about bringing evidence-based training to mental health clinicians in regional and remote Australia, and to upskill clinicians in a therapy that delivers results.

Dee grew up during the terrorist war in Zimbabwe during the early 60's - 70's. Her early exposure to ongoing stress and trauma has shaped her own personal development, as well as sparked a professional desire to find ways to treat trauma and aid recovery and healing. Dee completed her psychology internship in South Africa, working at 1 Military Hospital in Pretoria. Dee has a specific interest in working with First Responders as well as Veterans.

Dee is very honoured to be part of Movember; spreading the message that trauma does not discriminate, as this can happen to anyone, and that healing and recovery is possible.

If you would like to connect with Dee or her clinicians, you can reach Synapse Psychology here:
