π£ CALLING ALL YOUNG PEOPLE β JOIN THE headspace KUNUNURRA YOUTH REFERENCE GROUP! π£
Do you want a real say in how youth mental health services are run in the East Kimberley? The headspace Kununurra Youth Reference Group (YRG) is now taking applications.
The YRG is a group of local young people who work alongside our team to make sure headspace Kununurra stays relevant, safe, accessible and deadly for young people in our community.
What you'll do πΉ Help shape and improve headspace Kununurra services πΉ Give advice on social media, campaigns and resources like factsheets, brochures and radio ads πΉ Contribute to local projects and events β and lead your own, with our support πΉ Peer support and mentoring πΉ Speak up for young people in the East Kimberley
What you'll get β

Who can apply π₯ Young people aged 16 to 25 at the time of applying π₯ We want the group to reflect our community β all genders and ages, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, multicultural communities, LGBTQIA+ young people, and young people with a broad range of life experiences. You don't need any qualifications or experience in mental health β just an interest in making things better for young people. π₯ There are positions available.
What's involved π
Meetings once a month for 1.5 hours at headspace Kununurra, 144 Konkerberry Drive π
Members are asked to attend scheduled meetings, share information with the group and have regular access to the internet and a device π
We know life gets busy β if you need to take a break or step back, just have a yarn with our team and we'll work it out π
Applicants under 18 will need parent or guardian consent, and all members will be asked to consent to participation, media (photos/videos/quotes) and emergency medical support π
Recruitment involves application form and an informal chat and any checks required, e.g. Working with Children Check.
