Bayside Community Care has several community projects designed to help members of the local Bayside community in Melbourne, as well as overseas. Matt's Place is a community meals program for people who are socially isolated or economically challenged and runs weekly at Cheltenham and Chelsea. Matt's Place is supported by the City of Kingston, Longbeach Anglican Church, St Matthew's Anglican Church
, Rotary Beaumaris and TerryWhite Chemmart Cheltenham. The Bayside Community Christmas Lunch, established in 1993, accommodates up to 300 people who otherwise may not have anywhere to go at Christmas. The Christmas Lunch enables people to celebrate Christmas and make new friends over a beautiful, traditional three-course lunch. This is a free event for those in need. The Food Relief program is available all year round for those struggling to feed their families. There are special hampers made and delivered over the Christmas period as well. Further afield, Bayside Community Care supports the Bayside Forever Home, a home for abandoned children in South Africa; prison rehabilitation programs in Australia and Indonesia; and advocates for the abolition of the death penalty. There are a variety of ways for volunteers, at an individual, school, corporate or community level, to get involved as well as fundraising opportunities. Donations are always welcome.
