Kilkivan Great Horse Ride is a great family weekend held annually. The ride for 2015 will be on the 4th of April. Once again there will be trails culminating at Kilkivan for the Grand Parade down the main street

The Kilkivan Great Horse Ride has two trails starting from Widgee and Kilkivan. Each trail covers between 25 to 30 kilometers through some of the mostly unappreciated bush-land around the historic gold mining area of the South Burnett. The two trails vary in difficulty. Both trails are led by an experienced trail boss and supported by the SES vehicles and St. There is ample camping at the start points and at the Kilkivan Showgrounds. Entertainment and food is readily available throughout the weekend
