A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful team at Everyday Independence Shepparton Hub for their kindness and generosity. 💙

The team kindly donated much needed nappies and children’s clothing for the families attending the Family Haven. These practical donations make a real difference, helping families feel supported during what can be a challenging time.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and community spirit shown by the Everyday Independence Shepparton Hub team.

🌟 Chris – 6 years volunteering with Lighthouse, beginning as our first Pit Stop volunteer and now our incredible Family Haven Santa and unofficial gardener

From supporting families at Family Haven, supporting the development of PitStop and engaging with young people at the OLLY, each of you plays a vital role in strengthening our community.

Thank you, Goulburn Valley Water! 💧
GV Water has partnered with St Georges Road PS and SELC Community Hub to co-design cooking sessions for Hub families.

These sessions will be incredibly beneficial, providing a connection opportunity for GV Water to build the local water knowledge of people who have newly arrived to Australia. 🫶

At the same time, Hub members are practicing their English, getting ideas for cooking with their children at home, and proudly sharing traditional recipes with each other. 🍲

A big thank you to SELC and Arthur Mawson Children’s Centre for generously providing their kitchens for these wonderful sessions. 👏

We’re looking forward to seeing these connections grow and celebrating the many cultures, recipes and stories shared along the way! ❤️

A huge thank you to CMV Group for their generous donation of bikes and helmets to Ardmona Primary School 🚴‍♀️

Brody and Anthony from CMV and our Executive Officer Amy visited the school to gift students their bikes! The school community was incredibly grateful for the support, which will help encourage safe and active learning opportunities for years to come.

The school has also secured a grant to build a dedicated bike track, enabling the delivery of bike safety and education programs. We're looking forward to returning once the track is completed to see the bikes in action🚲🛻

Designed for young people aged 12 to 25, however everyone is welcome to attend.
With more than 30 local clubs, organisations and services all under one roof, you'll have the chance to:

⚽ Try interactive activities and challenges
🎨 Explore creative, sporting and volunteer opportunities
💬 Connect with organisations that support young people
🤝 Discover new ways to get involved in your community

Celebrating FoodLadder at Mooroopna Park Primary School! 🌞

We were very excited to share the first harvest from the Mooroopna Park PS Food Ladder Greenhouse with the students who grew the produce and the amazing Kiwanis and Rotary volunteers who built the infrastructure. 🥬

Then Mooroopna Park Primary School was one of just three schools in Australia to receive an inaugural Community Roots Excellence Award at the Food Ladder Conference!

It has been a joy to see the students expand their food education through hands-on learning and enjoy the fruits of their efforts in the Healthy Meals Program. 🥗

Producing over 250 kilograms of fresh veggies annually, the greenhouse will provide produce for the Park Cafe and any surplus shared with school families. 👩‍🌾

Thank you to the supporters who made this project possible – Rotary Club of Shepparton, Rotary Club of Shepparton Central, Shepparton South Rotary Club, Brian M Davis Foundation and Food Ladder.

It’s National Youth Volunteer Week, and we’re taking the opportunity to thank our Youth Volunteers across all of Lighthouse's initiatives!

Let's celebrate a few superstars this week! 💫

Meet Nancy, who volunteers at St Georges Road Primary School, helping students build their confidence by listening to them read at BookBuddies. Nancy is kind, fun and students look forward to their reading time with her each week. 📚️

And then there’s Charlie, who spent his day off school volunteering at Mooroopna Park Primary School Cafe. With a passion for cooking, Charlie got stuck into the kitchen and helped Nina by baking delicious cookies and muffins for everyone! 🧁🍪

Lastly, a big shout out to our awesome OLLY vollies. Each week they help create a safe and inclusive space for our young people to hang out, build connections and learn new skills! They were nominated for Volunteer award earlier this year, with a few vollies representing at the event! 🫶

THANK YOU to all of our Youth volunteers for sharing your time, talents and enthusiasm with our community! 🌟
