This morning I joined so many in our community along with and at the Brookfield Anzac Day Service to remember those who fought for the freedom we enjoy today 🇦🇺

I'm so proud of my Dad, John Forrest who was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Australia Day 2026 Honours List for service to his favourite game, cricket! 🏏🏏

Not only is Dad a proud veteran of the RAAF Active Reserve where he served for 34 years, he has contributed to veteran welfare through the and as President of the Royal United Services Institute Queensland.

His love of cricket began while growing up on Main Street, Wooloongabba and his first job was selling icecreams at .

He played cricket at the from 1964-1979. He was a founding member of the Club in 1979, President of for 17 years from 1993-2009 and a member of the Board for 9 years from 2002 to 2011.

Safe to say, he doesn't just like cricket, he loves it! 🇦🇺🇦🇺
