“Thank you” to Drakes Community Dollars program and members of the community who are supporting Uniting Care Copper Triangle by shopping at a Drakes store and showing their Drakes Community Dollars key tag or using the Drakes app and have nominated us to receive the donation.

It is great to receive the letter advising our community group is eligible to receive a gift card in August. Funds will be used to support our Christmas Hamper Program for 2026.

Today is the start of Loneliness Awareness Week. This year’s theme is ‘Make Room for Connection’.

As individuals, there are simple steps we can take to make room:
🔹 Sit next to someone new
🔹 Wave and stop to chat to those around you
🔹 Invite someone new into something you already do
🔹 Eat with others
🔹 Try a new activity or start an interest group
🔹 Comment or DM instead of simply ‘liking’ someone’s social media post
🔹 Volunteer with a local organisation.

UnitingCare Copper Triangle will be hosting a special Volunteer Thank You service on Sunday 17th May at 9 am at Kadina Uniting Church. This service will be led by Jan Trengove from Clare.

National Volunteer Week 2026 in Australia runs from 18-24 May 2026, celebrating the theme "Your Year to Volunteer". This week honours the millions of Australians who volunteer, with 2026 also marking the UN International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development (IVY 2026), highlighting the vital role volunteers play in building sustainable, inclusive communities.

Moonta Mines Faith Community held a church service this morning where representatives from 7 different community organisations received a cheque to support the work of their group.

This is special time of the year for all , a time for giving, a time for service.

And a time for friends and family, celebrating the birth of Jeasus.

The members of Moonta Mines Faith community again this year have chosen to Make donations of their choice to special Groups who have shown community service.

There are seven receiving our support this year several have already received
their gifts and today we acknowledge all groups receiving cheques

The ambulance and the RFDS join together many times to Save many lives.

*SEA RESCUE Are on call all hours to find missing at sea any time and take on the elements’.

*NYP BRANCH CANCER COUNCIL second year support for country people

Last Sunday Moonta Mines Faith Community shared the service out at Cunliffe for Christmas and supported hamper food for MUC Tummy Filla Fridays,

UNITINGCARE COPPER TRIANGLE & Uniting Country SA - BAGSHAW HOUSE

Have a partnership agreement and have purchased the property known as
Bagshaw House in Kadina, to be used as short term accommodation. The donation will be used to assist with the purchase an air conditioner for a bedroom.

This property was a generous bequest from the estate of Nellie Bagshaw, and is in Kadina and was purchased in Kadina in conjunction with Uniting Country SA

Their story is quietly supporting many people,their endeavours are truly a lot of hard work.

Many people take time to support organisations without seeking rewards, just getting on with it.

Today it is our chance to in a way say a big thank you, we appreciated the work you do for all people, and sometimes our family members.

Its almost Christmas and our Christmas Programs have been overwelmed with requests for support at this time of the year.

We want to thank everyone who has supported our programs by making generous donations of gifts, financial support or help in wrapping or packing hampers.

It takes a team of people for these progams to function.

UnitingCare Copper Triangle is currently not able to receive donations for our Emergency Furniture Program for the time being.

We will update this when we are to start receiving donations again.
