🏀 OPEN AGED BASKETBALL IS ALMOST HERE, INGHAM! 🏀

Starting in just a few weeks, we’re bringing Open Aged Sunday basketball to town — and we want you involved.

This is your sign to get back out there.

You do not need to be a superstar.
You do not need to be super fit.
You do not need to have played recently.

You just need to be willing to have a go.

If you’re a bit underdone, no worries — bring a mate and sub on and off. This comp is about getting people active, involved, and back around the game.

We’re also calling for non-playing helpers, including:

* Referees
* Timekeepers/Scorers

If you’re willing to referee 1 game per week, your playing fees can be waived.

💰 Registration is $53, but money should never be a barrier to participation. If cost is holding you back, send us a message. We’ll do our best to help with rego fees.

And there’s more — by playing in these comps, you’ll become automatically eligible to participate in representative carnivals for Ingham Basketball.

📅 Game day: Sundays
🏀 Starts: In a few weeks
🔥 Open aged
💰 $53 rego
✅ Support available if needed
✅ Fees waived if you referee 1 game each week

Whether you want to play, ref, or help as a timekeeper/scorer, now is the time to get involved.

Message Ingham Basketball now to register, help out, or ask about rego support.

Let’s build something good.

WHAT A DAY FOR INGHAM BASKETBALL. 🏀

Today gave us two very different reasons to be excited about where basketball in Ingham is heading.

A huge congratulations to Izaiah Turner, Hayden O’Brien and Josh Shannon, who won their Townsville Basketball Grand Final today. Three Ingham players getting it done on a bigger stage is a massive achievement, and something they should be extremely proud of.

At the same time, we had a fantastic She Hoops clinic in Ingham, giving our girls the opportunity to get on court, learn, have fun and see what basketball can offer them. Seeing so many girls involved today was just as exciting, because building a strong pathway for girls and women in Ingham is a massive part of where we want this association to go.

Today really showed both sides of the future we are trying to build — local players succeeding in competition, while at the same time creating more opportunities for new players to get involved.

And there is plenty more coming.

🏀 5v5 basketball is coming to Sunday afternoons — registrations are opening through Basketball Connect, so get registered and start getting your teams together.

We’re also working toward an after-school program for women, girls and primary-school-aged boys, with a very simple focus: just get involved. You don’t need experience, you don’t need to already be a basketball player — come along, learn, play and enjoy it.

Congratulations again to Izaiah, Hayden and Josh, and a massive thank you to everyone who made today’s She Hoops clinic such a success.

The future of basketball in Ingham is looking seriously strong. 🏀

SHE HOOPS IS COMING BACK TO INGHAM!

Ingham Basketball is incredibly excited to welcome She Hoops to Ingham this Sunday, 13 September, for a FREE girls basketball clinic at the ISHS Auditorium.

Even better, the clinic will be facilitated by Courtney Woods — She Hoops Program Lead, Australian Opal, Townsville Fire captain, 2026 NBL1 North Women’s MVP and winner of the Rachael Sporn Medal as the WNBL26 Championship Series MVP. Courtney helped lead Townsville to the WNBL Championship earlier this year, including an incredible 28-point, 8-rebound, 7-assist performance in the title-clinching game.

Courtney is now working with She Hoops and Basketball Australia to help inspire the next generation of girls to get involved in basketball, build their skills and see where the game can take them.

Sunday 13 September
ISHS Auditorium
Time: 12pm-1:30pm
FREE to attend

The tournament opens with a huge rematch between reigning champions Townsville Fire and Perth Lynx. Entry is free for our Ingham kids!!

For our girls in Ingham, this is an awesome opportunity to learn directly from one of the best players in Australian basketball — right here at home.
