June is Bowel Cancer Month 🍎
Over the next month we will be sharing lots of information around bowel cancer, getting tested, and signs & symptoms to watch out for.

If you are aged 45 to 74, ask your Doctor, Nurse or Health worker about getting the free bowel screening test. Screening saves lives and if found early, bowel cancer can be successfully treated in more than 90% of cases.

For more information please call our clinic on (03) 5381 6301 or head to the Bowel Cancer Australia website; https://www.bowelcanceraustralia.org/

Support bowel cancer awareness efforts. Educate yourself on risks, symptoms, and ways to promote early detection.

Farewell Brett! 👋🏿
This week we farewelled Brett Harrison as he takes on a very import role with the First Peoples TREATY authority Gellung Warl.

Brett was elected by the BGLC traditional owner group at a full group meeting recently. Under the TREATY arrangement approximately 11 Traditional Owner groups were allocated a position and had the responsibility of electing their representatives.

Other Gellung Warl reps for the various regions were elected by ballot.
Gellung Warl is a first in Australia and we look forward to what the body can bring to Aboriginal affairs in Victoria.

See below a link to the First Peoples Treaty Authority which has great information about the role of Treaty.
https://firstpeoplesvic.org/

This has all happened in a hurry for Brett and we wish him nothing but the best of luck in his new role. Of course he will not be a stranger and has promised to be a regular over at the HUB.
Well done Harro and good luck from all here at Goolum ❤️🖤💛
