This morning, local First Nations communities and representatives from across the Liverpool region came together to recognise National Sorry Day.

Held on the lands of the Tharawal people, and land also accessed by the Cabrogal Clan of the Darug Nation, the ceremony provided an important opportunity to reflect, listen, and stand together in remembrance, healing, and respect.

Wattle Grove Lions President Heather Franshaw-Thomas attended the ceremony alongside community members and local representatives.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to such a meaningful and solemn occasion.

Wattle Grove Lions Club

Today, we honour every version of motherhood. 💐
The “I prayed for this” mums.
The “does it ever get easier?” mums.
The exhausted mums.
The grateful mums.
The mums healing while raising humans.
The single mums.
The grieving mums.
The women aching to be mums.
The grandmas.
The dads carrying both roles.

Motherhood and the longing for it carries so many different stories. Today, we celebrate them all. ❤️
This Mother’s Day is also especially close to our hearts as we remember our beautiful Nonna and face our first Mother’s Day without her. Her love, strength, and warmth will forever remain part of us. 🌹

From all of us at Wattle Grove Lions Club, we wish you a Happy Mother’s Day filled with love, memories, and kindness. 💛

Wattle Grove Lions members proudly joined with members of Ingleburn Lions Club to attend the Dawn Service at Ingleburn RSL in the War Memorial Garden this ANZAC Day.

Together, we paused in the quiet of the early morning to reflect, remember, and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country. The moving service was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, respect, and keeping the ANZAC spirit alive for future generations.

Lest we forget.

🌸 International Women’s Day 2026 – Liverpool Quota Breakfast 🌸 Wattle Grove Lions 🦁

Members of the Wattle Grove Lions Club were proud to attend the Liverpool Quota International Women’s Day Breakfast, celebrating the incredible contributions of women in our community.

A sincere thank you to QUOTA Liverpool for hosting such a wonderful event and bringing together community leaders, service organisations and friends to recognise the impact women make every day.

It was also fantastic to hear about the life-changing work of Rotary’s ROMAC program (Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children), which provides critical medical treatment to children from developing countries who would otherwise not have access to lifesaving surgery.

Events like this remind us how powerful collaboration between service organisations can be. Thank you again to Liverpool QUOTA for a meaningful and inspiring morning. 💜
