New data published today shows the impact that research breakthroughs and improved treatments are having on men's lives.

Behind these numbers are thousands more dads, husbands, brothers and friends getting precious extra time with loved ones.

But we're not stopping here. There's still much more to do.

I was really appreciative to meet and have a visit from Her Excellency to our Prostate Cancer Stall at the recent MD convention in Adelaide.
Her Excellency appeared very interested in our ProstateCancer Awareness efforts. A true community minded State Governor.

On behalf of all Lions Clubs throughout Australia, a donation cheque of $302,117.20 was presented by District 201Q1 Lions District Governor Johnson Chen and Patrick O'Donoghue Lions Prostate Cancer Project to Hans de Koning, Mater Foundation and Prof. John Hooper from Mater Research. Donated funds are used to purchase equipment towards a cure for prostate cancer.

I would like to thank everyone who attended the most successful Lions Prostate Cancer Awareness event on 1 September 2026.
We had 60 attendees. Event was co-hosted by Brisbane Holland Park Lions Club
My great thanks to our great speakers - Dr Sam Davies, Urologist, Robotics, and Deidre Kiernan, Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurse, Prof. John Hooper, Cancer Biology Research and Cr Ryan Murphy BCC Councillor & Prostate Cancer Awareness Advocate.

This year will be a panel format, with Q&A.
