Are you a medical, nursing, paramedicine or pharmacy student who’s completing a rural placement or attending a rural conference?
If so, we have a great scholarship opportunity for you!
Rustica has just opened its first round of scholarships for 2026! These scholarships are used to financially support health students to complete a placement in a rural area or rural conference. This can be for future rural placements/conferences or those that have already been completed.
!! IMPORTANT !!
This round, we are excited to announce that we will be awarding 6 scholarships, with each winner receiving $500!
To apply, you need to meet both eligibility criteria:
1. You need to be a Rustica member. If you aren’t already a member, use this link to sign up: https://nrhsn.org.au/register/
2. Your placement must also be in an area classified as 3-7 (inclusive) on the modified Monash Model (MMM). Use this website to find out: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/apps-and-tools/health-workforce-locator/app
If this sounds like you, have a go at applying for Rustica’s first round of scholarships. Applications are OPEN NOW until Sunday 7th of June 2026 11.59pm.
Winners will be announced within one month of applications closing.
