Yesterday we finished up an awesome term taking the joeys and cubs out to Cressbrook dam for a hiking/paddling morning off fun. Some small frustrations like learning how to paddle forward and backwards as well as work out the optimal angle for maximum splashing makes for more resilient young people in our community. For some even getting into the canoe safely was a challenge.
Scouting has been proven to make children (and adults) more resilient.
We have space at Highfields scouts for more young people aged 5-25 in term 2. Message us for details.

Cracking camp last night followed by canoes out at Cooby this morning!
Even our resident bandicoot got to enjoy some damper ingredients.

We are preparing for 2026. If you are curious about scouting in Highfields, please send us a message to come for a trial.

How often are Scouts shown simply as children and young people hiking? 🏕️
But how often do we see the countless volunteer hours behind every trip, meal, activity, and permit?

Scouting is like an iceberg. What’s visible is the adventure, the badges, the scarves, the smiles. What stays hidden is far greater: the dedication of volunteers and Scout leaders, teamwork and collaboration, conflict resolution, planning, training, and a strong educational method.

To the world, we wear our uniforms and enjoy the journey. Beneath the surface lie the skills, values, and commitment that make it all possible. They may not always be seen, but they are always there.

Highfields Group Shirts for young and old!
Our group look amazing when they are out on mass in our group shirts.
Long sleeves, light weight they are great for adventurous activities.
We have a small supply of leftovers from the last bulk order. Plenty of large sizes for adults and about 8 youth sized ones.
They are at the den so talk to a leader. You are welcome to try on. $45 each and we have a square reader.
