Last Monday I spent a very enjoyable evening with our new singing group.
Led by Don on keyboards they sang a variety of songs from the 50s and 60s with a beautiful Austrian folk song that gave me goose bumps.
If you are like me and love to sing (but I probably shouldn't) come along and join the frendly group of people as they would love to see more members.
I think this will become one of the most popular U3A groups.

I had the opportunity to meet the lovely folks at Pickle ball today.
Some fine skills were on display, sheep stations were won and lost and much fun was had by all.

It's Re-enrolment day !
From today you can re-enroll for 2026 by either going online to our web site at U3A Hawkesbury (https:u3ahawkesbury.org.au) login and choose your classes pay your fees and you are set.
But if you prefer call at the office at Bosworth St and fill out the form in person. Office Hours are 10am to 12noon Monday Wednesday and Friday.

The Walking for Pleasure Group plus the Photography Group combined to an over night trip to Mayfield Gardens near Oberon.
We met at the caravan park and enjoyed a history walk around Oberon on Thursday afternoon.
Some of the photography group went to Oberon Dam to shoot the sunset.
The courtesy bus took us to the RSL club for dinner and the driver turns out to have been a student at Windsor High.
The next morning we headed of to the gardens, the weather was perfect and there were very few people so we had nearly 70 hectares of manicured gardens to ourselves.
Mayfield Gardens are stunning and we highly recommend them to you.

Birds of the Hawkesbury class members are very passionate about the bird life in our area, some just observing, some recording their sightings for science and some planting trees on a massive scale to ensure the birds of the Hawkesbury have habitat for years to come.
At the annual Landcare get together at Olympic Park, one of our number and her band of volunteers have been recognised for their efforts planting hundreds of trees at Hawkesbury Showground.
I refer to Marguerite McKeown one of our original group members and keenest bird lovers.
The award was presented after a lovely lunch to which she took her husband Greg and fellow class members Nicola and Chris (co conspiritors).
She also received a nice book, a $200 Bunnings voucher and a framed Certificate.
Congratulations also from the class, as well as the Birds of the Hawkesbury.

Hawkesbury U3A are returning to Hawkesbury Fest again this year, this is an opportunity to showcase local businesses and community organisations.
This is a fun day out with lots of interesting things going on.

The Photography for all Class were treated to a very informative Sydney Architecture workshop lead by Tim Moon.
Thank you Linda for organising this fabulous workshop.
I think everyone who attended gained not only knowledge but renewed enthusiasm.
