To recognise and celebrate the contributions of foster and kinship carers, ICH has partnered with Inala and Forest Lake Child Safety Service Centres to host a special High Tea early next week. 🍵🍰 This is an opportunity for us to say thank you to carers who open their hearts and homes to children.

Enjoy delicious food, great company and free gifts 🎁 to take home as a small token of our appreciation.

If you are a carer with Inala or Forest Lake Child Safety Service Centres, please reach out to them as soon as possible for event details and to secure your spot. We would love to see you on the day and celebrate the incredible difference you make in the lives of children and young people. 💛

💜 May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.

This month is an opportunity to raise awareness and reaffirm our commitment to building safe, respectful communities for all.
Everyone deserves to feel safe at home, in their relationships, and in their everyday life. We all have a role to play in prevention by speaking up, supporting one another, and fostering a culture of respect.

At Inclusive Foster and Kinship Care, we acknowledge those impacted and recognise the strength it takes to seek support. You are not alone. Together, we can create change. If you or someone you know needs support, help is available 💜

What a wonderful way to celebrate Easter together 💛🍫🐣

Our Inclusive Foster and Kinship Care community came together for a fun-filled day, with a fantastic turnout of carers, children and staff. From making chicken puppets and Easter baskets to decorating plaster figurines, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

There was plenty of laughter with games like pin the tail on the bunny, followed by a big Easter egg hunt that had everyone excited. We wrapped up the day with a sausage sizzle, Easter morning tea and a raffle filled with generous prizes.

A heartfelt thank you to Bright Bags QLD for donating Easter holiday fun bags, and to everyone who helped make the day so special.

Ever wondered what the difference is between foster care and kinship care? 💛

Both play an important role in supporting children and young people who are unable to live at home, providing safe, stable and caring environments when they need it most.

Foster carers offer day-to-day care, guidance and support, while working alongside a broader care team to help meet each child’s needs.

Kinship carers are often family members or trusted people already in a child’s life, helping them stay connected to their family, culture and community.

At Inala Community House, our Inclusive Foster and Kinship Care team supports carers every step of the way, with guidance tailored to each unique situation.
