🐾 She came to us afraid of the world. Now she’s ready to find her world. ❤️
Five months old.
That’s all she is. And yet, in those five short months, this little tabby has already lived through fear, uncertainty… and an incredible transformation.
When she first came to us, she was completely wild.
She hissed if we came near. She didn’t understand a litter box. She didn’t know what it meant to be held, to be stroked, or to fall asleep knowing that nobody was going to hurt her.
So we gave her time.
We sat near her without touching her. We spoke softly. We cleaned up the little accidents. We waited through the hissing and the frightened eyes.
And slowly… she began to believe us.
One day, she stopped running.
Then she let us touch her.
Then she started coming closer on her own.
And somewhere along the way, the little kitten who was terrified of human hands became one of the most loving cats we have ever known.
Now she seeks affection. She wants to be near you. She trusts. She loves. She uses her litter box perfectly.
And when she looks at us now, it is almost impossible to believe she is the same frightened little soul who arrived here.
Perhaps that is what makes writing this so difficult.
Because we didn't just watch her grow.
We watched her learn that she was safe.
We watched fear leave her little body and love take its place.
And now we have to do the hardest part of loving an animal in rescue:
We have to let her go.
Not because we love her any less.
But because somewhere out there, there is a person or a family whose home is meant to become hers.
Someone who will let her curl up beside them at night.
Someone whose footsteps she will learn to recognise.
Someone whose lap will become her place.
Someone who, years from now, will look at this beautiful tabby sleeping peacefully in their home and find it hard to imagine that she was once a tiny wild kitten who trusted nobody.
She has already done the brave part.
She learned how to trust us.
Now we need someone to show her that she was right to trust humans after all. ❤️
She is only 5 months old, with an entire lifetime of love still waiting to be given.
