Walyalup & Surrounds The first OXJAM W.A. was in 2016 it blew-up, 150 people through the door, 250 sausages and a lot of responsibly consumed alcoholic beverages were sold.

We raised $3800. In 2017, we took it to the next level. We had two amazing gigs at the Odd Fellow and the institution that is MOJOS Bar. Raising another $4k for Oxfam Australia towards their fight against poverty. There's still one in the works to come for 2017 ;)

Our Story So Far

The first OXJAM W.A. gig was in 2016, held at the North Fremantle Bowls Club. We managed to secure some outstanding local talent, including The Painkillers, Moana, Fuzz Toads, Marlinspike, Bad Friends, amongst others. It blew-up: 150 people through the door, 250 sausages devoured and a lot of responsibly-consumed alcoholic beverages were all sold in the name of charity. Best of all, we raised $3800 for Oxfam. OXJAM W.A. was off to a great start!

In 2017, we took it to the next level, organising four amazing OXJAM W.A. gigs. The first event at The Odd Fellow (Norfolk Basement) included such luminaries as The Beautiful Losers and Hannah Smillie (Psychotic Reactions), with the legendary Martyn P. Casey (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) as our special guest DJ for the night. Our second event was hosted by the infamous Fremantle musical institution MOJOS, and we were lucky to be able to welcome back Moana, Fuzz Toads, Marlinspike, and Bad Friends for their second OXJAM gigs in a row; joining with other WA talents such as Ray Finkle, and w/ Chris Young (Pow! Negro) as special guest DJ. These events raised another $4k for Oxfam Australia, adding towards their ongoing fight against poverty.

2017 also saw a collaboration between OXJAM W.A and ANTAR W.A to bring you the ‘Watch Listen Yarn’ event, held at Clancy’s in Fremantle. Those that attended were serenaded on the evening by the beautiful and compelling voice of Lois Olney. Additionally, OXJAM W.A. hosted a ‘Christmas Summer Sesh’, with W.A. talent such as Moonlighter, Psychotic Reactions, Ben Catley & Reuben De Melo & Olive all getting into the festive spirit of giving the gift of their music to raise money for Oxfam.

2018: it is OXJAM W.A.’s third year running! We are pleased to welcome back OXJAM regulars Ray Finkle, Fuzz Toads, and Bad Friends, who will be joined by Heavy Flow, Trolley Boy, and Swayzee. Our own OXJAM W.A. founder Jakeb will be playing DJ on the night.
