For you Ladies going through treatment and maybe experiencing hair loss, did you know that at Oncology in Goulburn they offer Wigs at a great price.

You may get one I think it is from $50, then when you return the item you get part of the money back. I think there is also men wigs as well.

Ask at reception or look in the clear notice holder.
Kerry is in charge of this part. So many wigs to choose from.

Hello everyone and Happy New Year. How is everyone going since the holidays has ended.

I wish I was still away lol, had so much fun, drove from Goulburn to Port Macquarie then to the Sunshine Coast all by myself, yes that is right by my stubborn self lol. Met my newest grandson, I tell you what seeing all my 5 grandchildren growing up I am one hell of a lucky grandmother.

But am back now, and think we should all meet and get together over a cuppa.

Oh my goodness, when I started treatment in Canberra, my sister Donna and I would go shopping.
And right there I saw some knitting needles and some wool. Now I have not knitted for many years but thought to myself this is good therapy while having Chemo and Radiation.

Well if you are having chemo, well then you just might have experienced chemo FOG BRAIN lol. Just let me tell you it ain't pretty site, but honestly it is for my memory box.

Honestly it is ugly but it is mine lol. So many holes and I don't know how I increased stitches
Donna my sister even helped me, but I will keep buying wool and do little by little.

It is ok to reach out to someone and just say " I am not ok today".

I know it is bloody hard, I went to my Drs had xray, then it all happened all these tests different specialists.

That I could handle but...
Travelling up to see my Son and Daughter, and telling them that I may have lung cancer was the hardest thing I have ever done. Then looking into my beautiful prescious grandchildrens face's. They knew I was sick as I could not hide it as I lost so much weight (down to 37 kgs ) for a 60 year old woman.

Cut things short, I was told I had stage 3 Lung Cancer and it was aggressive, size of a drink coaster, top right lung. Thank goodness I had my middle sister and friend there for support.

I never cried, I did that when I was alone, and I tried to put on a brave face for everyone to see, plus be positive. I was this person that even the Drs asked if I was ok.

Then I lost it and the tears just fell down my cheeks, my eldest sister is my Carer 24/7 she just hugged me and I told her that I was tired of trying to be brave for my family.

I don't pity myself as a cancer victim cause I was a smoker, plus had my own cleaning company.

So please don't be afraid to cry, have time out for yourself and please be kind to your body.

Rest, eat healthy and enjoy this time in lfe as best as you can.
