Greg Long, President of the Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary, was recently joined by Nadia Lindop, Secretary of the Upper Lachlan Foundation, for a visit to the Crookwell Wellness Centre to see firsthand the impact of the 2026 ULF Wellbeing Grant. Staff welcomed the pair and provided an opportunity to observe the new treadmill in action—one of several important items purchased through the grant.
The treadmill is already proving its worth within the Wellness Centre’s rehabilitation and wellbeing programs, supporting patients as they build strength, improve mobility, and recover in a safe, supervised environment. The Grant also assisted with the purchase a laryngoscopy device, a Masimo Rad67, and a sittostand lifter, each contributing to safer, more comfortable, and more effective patient care across the hospital and wellness services.
The Crookwell Hospital Auxiliary extends its heartfelt thanks to the Upper Lachlan Foundation for its ongoing support of local health initiatives. The partnership between the two organisations remains a vital part of ensuring that Crookwell residents have access to highquality equipment and improved patient care within their own community.

👟 What if 30 people from our community joined Can Do the Distance?

If each person raised just $400 (that's only 10 donations of $40), together we could raise $12,000 to help local people facing cancer through our Can Assist branch.

🫂 That's the power of our community coming together.

This August, we're inviting our community to take on Can Do the Distance. Can Assist's month-long walking challenge that helps local people with the everyday costs of cancer treatment. You don't have to be a marathon runner, and you don't have to walk every day. Simply choose a distance that suits you, ask your family and friends to support you, and every dollar you raise stays right here in our community.

Your fundraising helps local people with fuel, accommodation, travel, parking, medical expenses and other everyday costs, so they can focus their treatment. Whether you're walking for a loved one, a friend, a neighbour, or simply because you believe in looking after our community, every step makes a real difference.

Registrations are now open. Join our branch, start fundraising today, and walk with us this August.

In the 1980s a visionary Goulburn businessman Dick Howe, who had earlier established an importing business, founded the Pilgrim Clothing Co. A worthy cause.

Who will you walk for this August? 💚

Not every cancer journey starts in a hospital. For our people, it starts with hours on the road.

That's why we're looking for people in our community to take on Can Do the Distance this August and help ensure no one faces cancer alone.

When you join Can Do the Distance, you're doing more than logging steps. Every dollar you raise goes directly back to our local Can Assist branch, helping local people facing cancer with the practical costs of treatment: fuel, accommodation, travel, parking and other everyday expenses.

Whether you're walking in memory of someone, beside someone, or to make sure no one in our community has to face cancer alone, every step has purpose.

The best part? Your impact stays local. The funds you raise help people in our own community, when they need it most.

Register today, start fundraising now, and walk with us this August.
