While the Fire Danger Period has passed and restrictions have eased in Mansfield Shire, fire risk does not disappear entirely and continued vigilance remains essential.
In the weeks ahead residents may see or smell smoke in the air in Mansfield Shire. This may be due to private landholders undertaking burn offs and firefighters carrying out planned burns when conditions are safe. These activities are an important part of managing and reducing bushfire risk before the next fire season.
If you intend to conduct a burn off on your property, please do so responsibly. This includes notifying the CFA by registering your burn, following all safety requirements and keeping a close eye on local weather conditions.
