BONOGIN FAMILIES — THIS ONE IS FULLY FUNDED

We’re very excited to share a wonderful opportunity being offered by our Bonogin facilitator, Debbie Burgermeister of Giddy Up Gold Coast.

Thanks to funding secured through Division 9 Councillor Glenn Tozer, Debbie is able to offer places in a fully funded 4-week Horse Whispering Youth Program during Term 4.

That means no cost to participating families.

The program will be delivered at Bonogin Valley Horse Retreat and is designed for young people in our local community who may benefit from some time outdoors, connecting with horses, building confidence and strengthening skills around communication, emotional regulation, relationships and belonging.

Three 4-week programs are available:

* Tuesdays, 12:00–1:30pm
* 6–27 October
* 3–24 November
* 1–22 December

Places are limited, with 9 funded positions available across the three programs.

A big thank you to Debbie for pursuing this opportunity for her local community, and to Councillor Glenn TOZER for Mudgeeraba & Hinterland (Division 9) for making it possible.

Welcome to the team!

In Carbrook we have beautiful Ash, who is fast becoming a popular member of our Horse Whispering Team. She has conquered our obstacle course and is starting liberty training with our students. She loves hugs and learning new things.

In Bellmere, we're overjoyed to welcome Little Miss Tiny to our team, an exceptionally lovely natured miniature pony joined us last month as a new co-facilitator, where she'll play a pivotal role assisting in some transformative regulation with our community of clients. She has already melted hearts 💕 🦄 (she also has some sassy chestnut mare qualities too)

Turns out the world is discovering what horse people have known all along… There’s something extraordinary about the healing power of horses.

Seeing that power step onto the world stage is equally extraordinary. 🤯

STELLA MCCARTNEY continues to shine a spotlight on the connection between humans and horses — and the role horses can play in wellbeing, connection and mental health. Her Horse Power story began with the Winter 2023 collection and has grown into a much bigger conversation about the healing power of horses.

For those of us here in Australia who witness that connection with young people every week, it’s pretty special to see it being talked about on this scale.

Hand in Hand Equine Assisted Therapy

Today, we join the equestrian community around the world in mourning the passing of Monty Roberts

To his family, friends and all who knew and loved him, we extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers during this time of loss.

There is no denying that Monty encouraged the world to pause, to observe, to listen, and to ask whether there was a kinder way to work alongside horses. In doing so, he inspired generations of people to replace force with understanding, fear with trust, and control with connection.

These are values that resonate deeply with us at the Horse Whispering Youth Program.

This term, we will honour this legacy by continuing the work we believe matters most—not by teaching children to control horses, but by helping them discover that the greatest leadership begins within themselves. Every lesson in emotional regulation, respectful boundaries, communication, patience and trust is a reminder that horses respond not to who we pretend to be, but to who we truly are.

Thank you, Monty, for helping the world see horses as our teachers as much as our companions. Your influence will continue to live on through every child who finds confidence, every horse who is met with kindness, and every human who chooses connection over control.

May you rest peacefully, knowing that your legacy continues to touch both horses and humans around the world.
