Chaos is a given - what flavour would you like?

Over 60 junior doctors and students came together to contemplate this question at the first-ever GCDS Career Night, a series that brings a panel of senior clinicians together for a fireside chat delving into the personal, convoluted, and serendipitous nature of trajectories in medicine. We were kindly joined by Dr Shahina Braganaza (Emergency Medicine SMO), Dr Ravi Mistry (Intensive Medicine SMO), Dr Timothy Mason (Anaesthetics Fellow), & Dr Simon Segal (Critical Psychiatry Registrar) on the often intertwined paths to Critical Care Medicine. The audience was kept engaged by the banter and eloquent storytelling approach to unpacking practical tips for applications and gaining experience, as well as taking stock of the art that goes into each respective speciality. Smiles all-around, down to Earth, and requiring 3 rounds of adding more chairs to the room, we are so looking forward to the next Career Night Event - stay tuned!
