Today, this massive boy came into our care, and the truth is... we're terrified we might lose him. 💔🐑
At just 24 hours old, he should be curled up beside his mumma, safe and warm, listening to the sound of her heartbeat and learning how to be a lamb. Instead, tragedy struck. His mum suffered a prolapse and passed away, leaving this beautiful boy alone in a world he had barely begun to know.
People often assume it's the tiny lambs that struggle the most, small and fragile (we've had lots of them)
People think that the big, solid lambs are big, strong and healthy. But this enormous boy is proving that size means nothing when your little body is battling to survive.
He can't stand on his own.
He won't drink.
Every feed is a fight. Every attempt to get him on his feet is exhausting. Every hour that passes feels critical, and every tiny flicker of progress gives us hope that maybe... just maybe... he isn't ready to give up.
Tonight will be another long night of round-the-clock care, worried glances, and whispered pleas for him to keep fighting.
Rescue isn't always the happy photos and playful videos people see online. Sometimes it's heartbreak. Sometimes it's sitting beside a fragile life, willing them to stay.
This precious boy has already endured more loss in his first day of life than any soul should have to bear.
Please keep him in your thoughts tonight. Send prayers, positive vibes, crossed fingers—whatever you believe in. He needs every bit of strength we can gather around him.
Come on, big fella.
Your mumma can't be here to fight for you anymore, but we can.
And we won't give up on you. ❤️
