๐Ÿ’› Our Purpose

To shape brighter futures by creating places of belonging, care and learning

Recently, our team came together at the Mount Annan Botanic Gardens for our Futuro Team Bonding Day, where we officially launched our new Purpose, Vision and Values.

The day provided an opportunity for educators, leaders and support teams from across our services to connect, collaborate and reflect on what brings us together as one organisation. Through team-building activities, meaningful conversations and a scavenger hunt that encouraged problem-solving and teamwork, we explored how our shared values guide the work we do every day.

As Futuro continues to grow, our Purpose, Vision and Values provide a clear foundation for how we support children, families, communities and one another. They help ensure that every decision we make remains grounded in what matters most.

Thank you to every team member who contributed to making the day such a positive and memorable experience. โœจ

Learning Healthy Habits โœจ

As winter arrives, our children have been exploring the importance of healthy hygiene practices and how we can help keep ourselves and our friends healthy.

This special reel features our children demonstrating the steps of handwashing, with a voiceover from one of our young learners explaining the process in their own words.

Through everyday routines such as handwashing, children develop independence, confidence and an understanding of how to care for their own wellbeing.

Itโ€™s often the everyday routines that create the biggest learning opportunities. ๐Ÿ’™

The educators from Futuro Gledswood Hills attended the National Sorry Day event organised collaboratively by the Botanic Gardens of Sydney, Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council, Wollondilly Shire Council, Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation, and Uniting.

Alongside members of the wider community, we came together to honour the Stolen Generations and amplify Aboriginal voices through storytelling, culture, and shared reflection.

The event included a Welcome to Country by Aunty Glenda, powerful stories shared by Uncle Charlie, cultural performances by Dancers, Digeridoo players and a moving performance by the WarinWarin children's group.

Fleur, a Wiradjuri woman, reminded attendees that the impacts of the Stolen Generations continue today, encouraging everyone to engage with the Family Matters Report 2025 by SNAICC and reflect on the ongoing importance of advocacy, connection, and action.

Listening to the stories of Elders and witnessing these cultural performances deepened our connection to Country and strengthened our commitment to reconciliation and culturally responsive practice. ๐Ÿ’›

Reflecting, learning and growing together โœจ

Last weekend, educators from our Austral and Gledswood Hills centres came together as part of our ongoing professional learning journey with .

Together, teams explored the Brain-SET approach, reflecting on how environments, relationships and educator responses shape childrenโ€™s learning, wellbeing and sense of connection.

At Futuro, we believe meaningful learning begins with a calm brain, through connected and responsive environments, and that investing in our educators is one of the most important ways we support children.

This is just the beginning, with our professional learning journey continuing across Futuro throughout 2026 ๐Ÿ’›
