Educators’ Day may have been yesterday, but our educators deserve celebrating every day. 💛

And who better to tell us what makes them so special than our children?

We asked children across Futuro what they love about their educators and what they enjoy doing together, and their answers are a beautiful reminder of just how much the little moments, relationships and connections matter.

To every educator across Futuro, thank you for the care, patience, joy and connection you bring to our children, families and each other each day.

We hope you felt celebrated yesterday, and know just how valued and appreciated you are, every day. 💛

Two years of Futuro Bardia! 🎂💛

Today we’re celebrating two wonderful years of learning, growing and creating memories together at Futuro Bardia.

Over the past two years, Bardia has become so much more than a place of learning, it’s a community shaped by our children, families and incredible team, and by the relationships and moments that make each day so special.

To everyone who has been part of Bardia’s journey so far, thank you for helping make it the community it is today. 💛

Happy 2nd Birthday, Futuro Bardia! 🎉

Here’s to everything still to come. ✨

Centres of children, not just centres for children. 💛

At Futuro, our Children’s Councils create meaningful opportunities for children to question, investigate, contribute to decisions and have their perspectives genuinely heard within their learning communities.

From advocating for a safer pedestrian crossing at Bardia, to exploring community issues at Gledswood Hills, working towards welcoming a centre pet at Austral and proposing changes to their environment at Leppington, children’s ideas are leading to real conversations and real action.

We’re incredibly proud to see this work featured by Semann & Slattery, who described Futuro’s Children’s Councils as “particularly powerful pedagogy.” ✨

Because honouring children’s voices is about more than listening; it’s about creating opportunities for them to participate, influence and belong.

Children’s voices in action. 💛

Last week, our Futuro Bardia Children’s Council took their learning beyond the centre with a special visit to Campbelltown City Council, putting civic participation into practice.

From casting their votes for the end-of-year Light the Tree celebrations to meeting Mayor Darcy Lound, the children had the opportunity to experience how decisions are made within their local community.

Most importantly, they came with something they’ve been working towards for some time, presenting their proposal for a safe pedestrian crossing between Futuro Bardia and the park across the road. 🚸

Through their Children’s Council, the children have explored the issue, developed their ideas and prepared what they wanted to share. This visit gave them the opportunity to take those ideas directly to someone with the power to help create change.

It was a wonderful example of what can happen when children aren’t simply asked for their opinions, but are given genuine opportunities to participate, advocate and contribute to the communities they belong to.

Centres of children, not just centres for children. ✨

Seeing possibility where others might see waste. ✨

Recently, our educators came together for a Pedagogical Day that took learning beyond our centres and into Reverse Garbage exploring the possibilities of Intelligent Materials.

Unlike resources with a predetermined purpose or outcome, Intelligent Materials invite children to wonder, imagine, investigate, experiment and create. They can be moved, combined, transformed and revisited in countless ways, giving children the freedom to explore their own ideas, theories and possibilities.

Our visit encouraged us to look differently at the materials we bring into our learning environments and consider the role they can play in fostering curiosity, creativity, problem-solving and inquiry.

The learning continued back at our centres, as educators collaboratively sorted and selected materials and considered how they could enrich our environments and create new invitations for children to explore.

At Futuro, doing things differently means remaining curious ourselves, reflecting on our practice, challenging what is familiar and being open to where new learning might take us.

Because sometimes, the most powerful learning begins when we stop seeing simply what something is, and start wondering what it could become. 💛

You’re invited to our 2026 Showcase of Learning! ✨

This September, we’re opening the doors across our Futuro centres and inviting our families and wider community to come and experience the learning that happens at Futuro every day. 💛

Our annual Showcase of Learning is an opportunity to explore our learning environments, see children’s projects and documentation, meet our educators and leadership teams, and experience the Futuro philosophy in action.

And who better to help extend the invitation than the children themselves? 🥰 Each of our Showcase invitations features a special invitation created by children from the centre.

Learning, reflecting and growing together ✨

Our educators from Austral, Bardia, Gledswood Hills and Leppington Heath Road recently came together at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan for another day of professional learning with Dr Kathryn Murray from Future Strong Education.

Throughout the day, our teams were encouraged to look closely at both themselves and the children they work alongside, exploring reflections such as Image of the Educator and Image of the Child, and considering how the way we see children influences the environments, relationships and learning experiences we create.

It was a day filled with conversation, reflection, connection and plenty of opportunities to challenge our thinking and consider our practice through a different lens. 💭

We’re incredibly proud to continue investing in opportunities that bring our educators together to learn from one another and strengthen practice across Futuro. 💛

Project Zero Series | Part Two 🌎

From Boston to New York, the learning continued.

After connecting with Lucy during Project Zero, Futuro Operations Manager Michelle and Gledswood Hills Educational Leader Raiane were invited to visit Barrow Street Nursery School in New York.

What followed was an opportunity to step into another early childhood learning community, explore different perspectives and reflect on thoughtfully designed learning environments, documentation that makes children's thinking visible and the importance of warm, authentic relationships.

More than a visit, it was a beautiful reminder of what can grow from a shared passion for children and learning, and the connections created when educators are willing to learn from one another.

A special thank you to Lucy and the Barrow Street Nursery School team for so generously welcoming Michelle and Raiane into your community.

Learning has no borders. 💛

From Harvard to Futuro. 🌏📚

What happens when educators from across the world come together to learn, reflect and challenge their thinking?

Recently, our Operations Manager, Michelle, and Educational Leader, Raiane, attended Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Boston, a world-renowned professional learning experience exploring how learning becomes visible, meaningful and engaging.

Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing highlights from their experience, the reflections that challenged and inspired them.

Because at Futuro, professional learning isn't about collecting ideas; it's about creating richer learning experiences for children, supporting our educators and continually strengthening our practice.

💙 From Harvard to Futuro, this is just the beginning.

Three years of Futuro. Countless moments worth celebrating. 💙

Recently, our team came together to celebrate an incredible milestone, Futuro’s 3rd Birthday.

The evening was an opportunity to pause and reflect on how far we’ve come. From one centre to a growing community of educators, leaders, chefs and support teams, every milestone has been made possible by the people who bring our vision to life each and every day.

It was a night filled with heartfelt speeches, laughter, celebration and connection, a reminder that while we’ve achieved so much in three years, the best is still to come.

To every member of the Futuro family, thank you for your passion, dedication and commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families.

Here’s to celebrating together, growing together and creating the future of early learning. ✨
